A Fred Thompson presidential run is looking more and more likely, says DC columnist and political insider Robert D. Novak:
Close friends of Fred Thompson say his wife Jeri is urging him to take the plunge later this year and run for the Republican presidential nomination.
The former senator from Tennessee and current actor on "Law & Order," in private conversation, makes it clear that he is seriously interested in launching a candidacy that has attracted extraordinary attention over the last two weeks. However, he does not plan to announce his candidacy in the immediate future.
The major rap against Thompson is that he was not a hard worker during his eight years in the Senate. His friends respond that this is an easily correctable error and that the same complaint was made about Ronald Reagan before he ran for president.
Thompson's wife is Jeri Kehn, was a political media consultant at the Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, and McPherson law firm in Washington, D.C., when they married in 2002. She also previously worked for the Senate Republican Conference and the Republican National Committee.
He's 65, she's 40.
It doesn't bother me either except when one of our FRiends just said that when he was 40, she was 10. That is a little freaky. lol.
Jeri can handle it - she's known politics for years, I'm sure she's no pushover, and we know Fred isn't.
It just stumps me because when I see him on Law and Order he looks a bit younger. I hope it is just that picture. I think it is just a bad one.

Fred is younger than McCain and pretty close to Rudy and Newt in age - in fact even Romney is 60 - although he doesn't look it.
