A Fred Thompson presidential run is looking more and more likely, says DC columnist and political insider Robert D. Novak:
Close friends of Fred Thompson say his wife Jeri is urging him to take the plunge later this year and run for the Republican presidential nomination.
The former senator from Tennessee and current actor on "Law & Order," in private conversation, makes it clear that he is seriously interested in launching a candidacy that has attracted extraordinary attention over the last two weeks. However, he does not plan to announce his candidacy in the immediate future.
The major rap against Thompson is that he was not a hard worker during his eight years in the Senate. His friends respond that this is an easily correctable error and that the same complaint was made about Ronald Reagan before he ran for president.
Thompson's wife is Jeri Kehn, was a political media consultant at the Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, and McPherson law firm in Washington, D.C., when they married in 2002. She also previously worked for the Senate Republican Conference and the Republican National Committee.

We really have no idea if that was the case - he divorced his first wife in 1985...and she was only about the same age as his new wife is now at that time. Don't judge the guy.
Jeri is no mere arm-trophy - she's very accomplished herself and involved in politics for years.
No way does she look anywhere near 18. Way too big for that. But I see what you mean, not that it bothers me.
That's not a good picture of him, really - he does look older than early 60s.
Granted, I like Fred, but he does look "older" at 64 than Rudy at 62 or Newt at 63. However, it's not old in a decrepit way, but old in a statesmanlike way. BIG difference.

he looks great! and the criticism of this wife is pretty hilarious when juxtaposed against the frontrunner's serial adultery. one trophy wife isn't enough for some, they keep going for a newer model.

She is younger, but not that young for crying out loud.
Wether she is capable of first lady material remains to be seen. They have a child together. So if they did get it, a youngster would be in the white house again.
