In response to the democrats passing their ANTI-TROOP bill, President Bush made a statement from the White House, vowing to veto it.
[this bill] has no chance of becoming law. Accompanying the president were members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, families of deployed service members and families of those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. (Transcript)
Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice met with the Iraq Provincial Reconstruction Team at the State Department.
Press Secretary Tony Snow made an announcement about his health at the end of todays press briefing. (Transcript)
On a lighter note, President and Mrs. Bush welcomed the family of former President Johnson to the Oval Office for the naming of the Lyndon Baines Johnson Department of Education Building. (Click here for more information)
President Bush was also joined in the White House today by Archbishop Demetrios for the proclamation of March 25, 2007 as National Greek Independence Day, A National Day of Celebration of Greek and American Democracy. (Transcript)

I have seen that look on our President's face before.
It was when he was talking about those who took down the WTC and hit the Pentagon.
You're right about that. How foolish for anyone to think he'll stand down.

He is ANGRY, Earthdweller.
These people are playing games and risking the lives of our troops with them.
He is ANGRY!

I can't remember specifically what that last vote was for but my congresscritter voted for it and I promptly informed him he would never get my vote again. The WOT is THE most important thing and anyone who isn't supporting it will not get my support.

Hi Jonny. Thanks for the Dose today. Have cell phone, will post -- as best I can. :)
I heard clips of the President's remarks on the radio earlier. He will fight for his troops no matter what, God bless him. The first President George W. had to fight with our first congress to fund our troops during the Revolution. Seems like some things never change. Congress is always dunderheaded and tight-fisted with the wrong things.

As I said upthread...........no one who knows who this man is thinks he will 'stand down.'
There is compromise in some areas out of necessity, but there is no compromise when it comes to the safety of our troops and our VICTORY over evil.
Anyone who thinks he'll back down is a fool.

Thank God for President Bush = and his vow to veto this Demonratic pork laden treasonous bill. And to not give in to the Demonrat terrorists who want to get to him so badly they will do anything to do so, including endanger this nation's security.

President George W. Bush smiles as he welcomes His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios to the White House Friday, March 23, 2007, to celebrate Greek Independence Day and to recognize the contributions of Greek-Americans to American culture. This year's ceremony also recognized the 40th anniversary of the episcopacy of the Archbishop.
President Bush: On Greek Independence Day, and throughout the year, we celebrate the universality of freedom and the enduring bonds between Greece and the United States. NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 25, 2007, as Greek Independence Day: A National Day of Celebration of Greek and American Democracy. I call upon all Americans to observe this day with appropriate ceremonies and activities.
