Asking for prayers
"Prayers mean the world to me."
So White House press secretary Tony Snow wrote in a brief note to this columnist last Friday, before surgery Monday found cancer had spread to his liver.
President Bush yesterday said Mr. Snow's attitude is "that he is not going to let this whip him, and he's upbeat."
"My attitude is that we need to pray for him, and for his family," Mr. Bush said.
We are still in our prayer blizzard for Tony and Jill Snow and their family.

Of course he would approve such a beautiful story.
If only more of humankind were like Tony Snow, it would be Heaven on earth. He personifies goodness, kindness, tolerance,intelligence, graciousness, warmth and humor. Tony Snow is a blessing to all of us.

Why did you have to mention Cheezits? I have to restrain myself walking past them because if I bring them home, I am doomed. Cheezits conquer my yearning for sweets, but then they have too much sodium!
I remember when I was little and wasn't in control of doling out treats, I knew that when I grew up I could have all I want.
Unfortunately then we realize the bad effects of overindulgence in anything. There's that old saying "Ignorance is bliss". Right now I have to agree.
I heard Brit Hume on Laura Ingraham this morning. Brit said he talked to Tony last night and he sounded great. He said Tony is a born optimist, always has been and is ready to fight. Apparently he has been contacted by NIH and a group in Texas (M.D. Cancer Center in Houston); he is going to have the very best expert care.
Most of us have family/friends who had/have cancer and are famiiar with their cases, sometimes very close-up. But no one's success or failure with treatment has anything to do with Tony. He is an individual and no human can predict with certainty how he will react to any treatment.Tony's outlook is positive. Bernie Siegel's (?) book, Love, Medicine & Miracles stresses how very important this is. We've given many copies to friends--it's very inspiring.

:-) Sorry, I am having a bad day. I had Monday off and my Tuesday was all the work of Monday and Tuesday in one day, it didn't end until late yesterday and right now, today is like an extension into last night. LOL It's the never ending Tuesday is what it is.
That's my defense, such as it is.
Next time I mention the forbidden snack food (FSF), I will post an alert ahead of time, so that it will not be read by anyone who is vulnerable to cravings.

Worked there, good outfit. Apparently all the ME Oil Money comes there when they need cancer treatment. I always felt very safe from terrorism when I worked there.
