Amnesty Bill to be Introduced in the U.S. House Today for Illegal Aliens

From the desk of Roy Beck at NumbersUSA:

This year's official push for nearly open borders in the United States is expected to begin later this morning.

Honestly, your collective reaction to the introduction of the Gutierrez/Flake amnesty bill in the U.S. House of Representatives will have great influence on whether national political leaders try to force this through.

We need to do this primarily with phones today.

We need the phones in all 435 offices of U.S. Representatives to be ringing all day in vehement opposition to what is being proposed by Rep. Gutierrez (D-IL) and Rep. Flake (R-AZ).

TALKING POINTS

Always be polite to the staffers taking the call. They will be much more likely to convey your position accurately if you treat them with respect.

Don't take too much time. Make a couple of notes about what you are going to say before you call and keep your comments simple and quick.

Here are some key points from which to choose:

1. I'm calling about the big amnesty bill that the media say will be introduced today by Congressmen Flake and Gutierrez (goo - tea - air - ez).

2. I urge Rep. xmxmxmx to keep his/her name off the co-sponsorship list. You don't want to get labeled as an amnesty supporter in our District.

3. It sounds like Flake and Gutierrez are trying to trick people into supporting it with some silly things about illegal aliens stepping across the border before coming back and being rewarded with a path to U.S. citizenship.

4. Nothing that provides a path to citizenship for illegal aliens should be supported.

5. (Provide your own reasons for opposing this bill based on your reading of Rosemary's analysis below.)

WHAT'S IN THE NEW AMNESTY BILL

UNDER GUTIERREZ/FLAKE:

NOTE: Do NOT assume that because your U.S. Representative acted against amnesty last year that they will do it again this year.

We have confidential information about several Members who have voted with us in the past but who are calculating ways to push through almost any kind of compromise between regulation and open border.

Please today, make sure your Congressman and staff are fully aware of where constituents stand on these newest ideas about an amnesty.

Your link clearly shows a failure on your part to understand the differences in "anti-illegal" immigration vs. anti-immigration.

Very few Americans want to close the door on immigrants. We just want immigrants to respect the laws of our nation. That way we can be reasonably sure they will become good citizens.

This should surprise no one. When the Republicans were in control of both houses, they refused to meet in conference to even try and get a bill to send to the President. Such a bill would have had to include some legalization, but also could have included securing the border and better enforcement tools. But in spite of polls showing Americans wanted comprehensive reform including border security, they thought they could win by doing nothing.

So now that the Democrats are in charge, lets see what goes to the President. As I said, this should come as no surprise.

I've looked everywhere and I can't seem to find the Bill number. It's all over the press, but for some reason (I can only imagine) they're witholding the Bill Number.

I hope the bill has provisions for illegal immigrants to easily take over all government staffing, including education. This could save us a lot in taxes.

I agree with your post and HOPE we have a silver lining. A lady called O'Reilly (radio( the other day. Obviously Hispanic by her statements and 3rd generation. She was conservative and expressed basically what I hope. O'Reilly negated her statement by saying that the religious and moral views are soon changed by the secular American ways. IGuess we hope O'Reilly was wrong and the woman right.

No matter what, 300+ million people with the possibility of more will only destroy our country and what our ancestors built and fought for. Imho the country was built by 1950, as I heard others express. Any immigrants now should be pure necessity not because the government has become the employement agency for business or to bring our standard down to world levels because of "votes".

Called Cong. Buchanan, Florida. His office was very polite. The telephone lines were not jammed as I hoped.

Congressman Holden,

I am writing you today to voice my strenuous objection to the GUTIERREZ/FLAKE Amnesty Bill currently being considered in the House of Representatives. It is my opinion, and that of many other central Pennsylvanians, that until there is a border fence and border security system in place, all you are doing is encouraging even more ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS to violate our sovereignty.

Instead of putting lawbreakers at the head of your list of things to do, finish the job you were elected to do. The money for the border fence was voted on and passed before the November election, and still you in Congress have failed to follow up and do the job you were elected to do.

This is an important part of the overall security issue related to the War on Terror. Please get the border secured before giving illegals consideration. Thank you.

Sincerely,
XXXXXXXX

What a reasonable question but, as yet, no answer.

I live in Los Angeles and I would like to close the doors on immigration, illegal and legal. Until every American has seen what I see every day, there will continue to be a blase approach to immigration ... period.

For example, last Spring when the illegals had their "protest marches" there were LEGAL immigrants from other nations who also joined them, openly complaining about our government and our country. We DO NOT NEED these people. Don't we have more than enought enemies within this nation, as it is?

The illegals WILL take over the government offices. It is called DIVERSITY, not MERIT. Diversity is the Left's way of saying institutionalized discrimination. One green polar bear must be hired before a native born English speaking person and so on down the line.

I have been burned before by information gleened from the Internet. I prefer to wait until I have something solid to complain about. I'll call our moombat's office when I have the bill number.

Every illegal alien who could produce marginally plausible "evidence" that he/she had been illegally present in the United States since June 1, 2006, would get amnesty and be put on the path to US citizenship.

My wife - who came here legally after we were married abroad - had to jump through innumerable hoops simply to get her visa.

Criminal background checks, medical exam and blood tests, financial investigation (to make sure no unpaid loans were outstanding), new passport, "personal character" interviews of friends and family, etc.

Not to mention the materials I provided to the State Dept., and an emergency trip halfway around the world because the local nationals were screwing up the paperwork.

I should have just brought her over in a steamer trunk.I distinctly recall that we were having this very same discussion on FR the morning of 9/11.

I am back to feeling about GWB now, the way I did that morning.

Finally (as if there is a "finally" on this), I want to see how they;re going to (a) fund 15 million new applications in the immigration system, (b) staff CIS so that it can handle 15 million applicants, and (c) prioritize the millions of outstanding LEGAL applicants who have been in the system for up to 10 or 15 years.

"Politicians ARE the enemy of this country. Their whole immigration deal is about getting votes, citizens be damned!"

Only 1/2 right. Illegals vote, and they do vote, Democrat. This is about money for the Republicans, campaign contributions and more from constituents who need cheap labor.

It's political suicide for Republicans, but they don't care.
