Rush Limbaugh responded this morning to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who called the talk show host "irrelevant" and said he wasn't Limbaugh's servant. Or rather, Schwarzenegger called Limbaugh's political views irrelevant.
The two men, as Limbaugh pointed out, have shared cigars and the Republican governor generally has been diplomatic about occasional barbs from the nationally syndicated talk show host. (The governor dodged attacking Limbaugh during a recent "Face the Nation" appearance, when he was asked an identical question about conservative critics.)
Toward the end of his remarks, Limbaugh said Schwarzenegger "is a sellout, and I'm seeing way too many Republicans do it. ... I don't know what happened to Arnold. I--I don't--he may--obviously didn't have the leadership skills to articulate conservative principles and win over the public as Reagan did." Read the full transcript after the jump.
Rush Limbaugh, speaking about Schwarzenegger's interview with NBC:
LIMBAUGH: They (NBC) throw something up Arnold, and I have said recently, and it happened today. And he called me irrelevant. He said he's not my servant. And I don't know how it is I can be irrelevant when every time he shows up on the 'Today' show' they ask him about me. I'm just sure he's sick and tired of hearing about it, he's sick and tired of getting the questions.

That was an earthquake. What time are John and Ken on? Morning drive? I think KFI streams.
Perhaps Rush did cost us the seat in MO. But for every seat he's cost us, he's won us a multitude. You won't catch me criticizing Rush.
I've heard Rush use the phrase "not a conservative" before, but today he was saying "not a Republican."
The Democrats self destructed in November '06 didn't they?
I don't think Arnold is conservative. But today Rush was claiming he wasn't a "Republican."
3-7, m-s.
"I think that all right-thinking people are sick and tired of being told that ordinay decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I most certainly am not, but I'm sick and tired of being told that I am."
As is evidenced by the verbal elocution by most of our elected officials being able to pronounce words common in our language is not paramount to winning an election. ;)
Your choices could become a nationwide trend if Guiliani is the (R) candiate. I'll be part of it.
Wake up you idiots. Rush didn't say Arnold was not a Republican, in fact he said he WAS a Republican but that he wasn't a conservative. Do you people actually read before you spout off!!! I if you listened to Rush you would know what was going on. Evidently you don't (so you don't) Not trying to offend you but don't care if you think I did.
i get tired of him saying "cal-eeeee-forr-nee-ah"!

Gallup: Either McClintock or Schwarzenegger Likely Winner in California if Other Dropped Out
Bustamante wasn't even a contender.
Had Schwarzenegger not run, we had the chance at a conservative.
Had McClintock not won, we would have still had Gray Davis, not Bustamante.
In retrospect, Schwarzenegger has done more damage than Gray Davis could
have ever accomplished in advancing the liberal agenda.
You're missing the forest for the trees. Rove is nothing more than a political operative. If they go after Rove, they are mounting nothing more than a political persecution.
They might as well ask him "Are you or have you ever been a Republican."
It ain't gonna sell on Main Street. They are going to look like fools going after the little fish.
Not only will they appear to be invading the province of the Presidency, but also the courts. If laws have been violated, then that's the courts' job, not theirs.
And people aren't going to forget that the Dems promised 6 years ago that they'd never let Bush govern. They are just ratifying the public perception that they are rabid partisans who use the trappings of power for political purposes. That's definitely not what America is about. The more nasty it gets, the better.
People don't trust them as it is. They aren't going to help their cause.
anything but another 8 years of mrs and mr narcisism, precious and precocious boomer generators.
he's just doing the work that democrats aren't willing to do...
How do you get into listening to the audios on his new web site without signing up for his 24/7?
"Once you say, "Rush Limbaugh is saying you're not really Republican..." Well, that's true. To these people in the Drive-By Media, Republican and conservative equals the same thing. I have said he's not a conservative -- and, by the way, I want to remind all of you people in California, from the get-go I have told you he was not a conservative. He's a good guy, but he's not a conservative. He's a Republican."

The 'Republican' badge isn't what they're after.
That's become a real hang up around here since the 2000 election cycle.
This isn't rocket science folks:
1) Republicanism (capital R) is a partisan pursuit.
2) Conservatism is a core value and a governing philosophy when applied politically.
The two are mutually exclusive. Political partisans have a wide range of governing philosophies and conservatives are not necessarily tied to any partisan organization.
