I thought they said he HAD SOLAR panels!! What a hypocrite.

If you pay a couple hundred thousand to have a couple of acres tastefully landscaped, the last thing you want is this crap looming from your neighbor's yard."
If anyone will pay a couple of hundred thousand dollars to "landscape" a couple of acres, you have toooooo expensive a landscaper. Water will be the next big enviro issue. Look for the fancy landscaping to be banned within 10 years.

Then Al Gore should have MOVED to a different town that would LET him have solar panels.....this is all such bullcrap...ALGore never even ASKED about having solar panels.
To: Sub-Driver
Speaking of which...
...where's a good source of roof-mounted solar panels?

Actually, if you've got money to burn, and want solar power (without the ugly), just install solar shingles. Such as this...
Tasteful. Crazy expensive, but tasteful.

I am sure that if Gore would go before the local government, show them his movie that they would change the rules and cut down the trees so the panels could get the sunlight.

I'd worry that my investment would be down-the-toilet with the first hail storm.

Yes, very expensive, but attractive and energy saving. Mr. Gore could also have installed a ground source heating system. The cheapest way to heat and cool your home. It's out of sight, and uses the earths natural resources to produce energy, provided their zoning laws would permit(I'm sure Mr. Gore has a little influence there).
I wonder if Mr. Gore is still traveling around in his private jet and riding in limousines in order to deliver his Global Warming diatribes? /s

If anyone will pay a couple of hundred thousand dollars to "landscape" a couple of acres, you have toooooo expensive a landscaper. In addition to lawns and foliage that would include play structures, the pool, decking, patios, gazebos, barbecue area. $200,000 is actually a very low estimate for a nice 2-acre back yard in an expensive area.

I'd worry that my investment would be down-the-toilet with the first hail storm. You you just have to balance that risk against the high smug factor you will have earned. ;~))

Hopefully, that's NOT a picture of the north-facing roof?

Actually, the new solar shingles have been designed to withstand the forces of nature such as hail storms.

Well, I had already visited that web site and only saw that it was designed to withstand 80 mph winds. I didn't see any mention of the ability to withstand hail storms.
To: Sub-Driver
Well, Al, I would think a man of your stature should easily be able to solve this problem. If you can con half the world with your science fiction movie, you can certainly con the city to allow solar panels. Or, threaten them. Get Jesse Jackson to claim the policy is killing black chilrun.

By the time the media is through with Al Gore he will be, "Mr. Toxic Waste". I guess they are jealous of Gore's Oscar.
Not that I am not enjoying this!
