(IsraelNN.com) More than 7,000 French Jews have signed a petition asking for political asylum in the United States because of anti-Semitism in France. The petition makes pointed reference to the murder of Ilan Halimi, a 23-year-old Parisian Jew who was kidnapped and tortured to death last year by an anti-Semitic gang, and says that "following the barbarous murder of a young Jew because he was Jewish, in the context of the rise in anti-Semitic acts committed by Islamic fundamentalists, numerous members of the community no longer feel safe in France."
The petition was sent to the U.S. Congress and asks it to enact a law according French Jews refugee status.
Some French Jewish leaders were outraged: "This petition is bizarre, stupid and out of place," said Chaim Musicant, director of CRIF, the umbrella organization of secular French Jewish groups.

If what I just wrote made you sad or angry,
it was probably just a joke.
This is a good thing, this petition. It will provoke howls in France, but that is good. France needs to take the situation much more seriously. There is a vicious anti-Semitism among a lot of Arab youths which needs to be stomped out by hard actions by the state. If it were just graffiti and name-calling, it would be one thing. But there are murders and severe beatings going on now. It has to stop. If this jolts France, good. France needs jolting.
It is interesting that these Jews have chosen to seek asylum in America, as opposed to executing their right to emigrate to Israel. My own parochial view is that it is all well and good to go to Israel, but I want to concentrate as much talent in the US as we can get.
I guess some of the French have a brain.

France should kick out the perpetrators. Hint: they are not Christian, not Buddhist. They are all of a certain ideology. If France kicks them out France will be safe again.

The French are still a pack of cowards at heart, not at all different from how they were in the Vichy years. They will gladly sell the Jews to their new overlords, be they Nazi or Muslim.
I for one welcome them.
If only we could send each and every CAIR POS to France, and take the 7,000 Jews in exchange. That would be 7,000 asylees we KNOW aren't plotting to blow us up.
But I'm afraid that congress is more interested in having 100M mexicans converted to legal welfare recipients and votes for democratic party.
They don't need asylum in the US, they have Israel to take them.
Hopefully, we're not so French, ourselves, that we won't take them in.
