Bush Phones Attorney General Gonzales to Reaffirm His Support
(Excerpt) Read more at foxnews.com ...
With that said - I don't like to make a president think he is beholden to his staff either - even though all your points were spot on.
Lincoln fired popular generals which angered the American people at the time like General George B. McClellan.
Though I also understand Lincoln fired the general for being a bad general and if-if-if Attorney General Gonzales is fired by Bush it would be over politics not competence. That is the difference and not a good thing overall. This is why it would be bothersome from the right wing point of view regarding this firing (if the news is true).
Incompetent, clueless, or marginally qualified, IF Gonzales goes, it just emboldens the Democrat slime machine. They go up another rung and set their sights of Rove, Rice, to eventually get to the President.
What is annoying me to no end is the refusal/lack of marbles on the part of White House and elected Republican "leaders". Democrats are nothing more than bullies. Every bully I have enountered recoil when you get in their grille or slap them around in public.
Democrats like Schumer and Leahye are bullies without a lot of substance to back up their bluster. Slap them around publicly and they will run crying like the little girls they are to their media mommies.
Until the White House and elected Republicans step up and say enough is enough the BS will continue. Someone has to have a clue or have we elected a bunch of pussies?
My 0.02 is all
Don't make the mistake of thinking that by bashing libertarians and conservatives you're going to convince anybody to vote for a liberal Republican again. I'm more and more convinced that better a liberal rat than a liberal republican.
I'm fully aware that Ronald Reagan wasn't Ronaldus Magnus until the Berlin Wall collapsed. Similarly, if this escalation works and Baghdad is pacified, Bush will be remembered for that, and his legacy will be secured.
Bush standing by his man,
Go Dubya
Moreover, he wasn't an especially GOOD businessman.
Harriet Miers. Although she wanted to fire the whole kit & kaboodle.
Bump
Yeah, but did Bush call collect?
If this follows the pattern he established with Rumsfeld, Gonzales will be gone next week.
"You're doin' a heck of a job, Brownie" alert.
That statement is an outright lie.
Prove it!
He is on the run....and the sharks smell blood.
Only because of self inflicted wounds....
Actually, my friend, I do not believe that day will ever come. The RINOcrats have taken over the republican party just as the Marxist's dims did the Democrat Party. Both parties are lead by liberals, for liberals, with liberal agendas, fighting conservatives in both parties for control over the Republic. I believe we are in a minority that will never see power again. We are the minority that will be kept in the minority, ranted on and hated at by all liberals of both parties. But, as my President said, "from my cold, dead hand."
Just on his track record alone (leaks, voter fraud, illegal immigration) the AG should have been canned a long time ago. But keeping him around has led to the present situation where the timing of such a move has become politically dis-advantageous. The political short sightedness of President Bush's administration (starting in '01 with that "...setting a new tone.." nonsense) is comming home to roost. For proof of this you need look no further back than the '06 election and no further ahead than '08.
stop towing the Democrats line... President Bush is an honorable man who does recognize loyalty in his staff. He did not ask Gonzales to resign and with Rummy the bottom line is Stay at home Republicans let the Rats sweep the election so Conservatives got what they wanted... Don't blame Bush for the crap that the Democrats spew.. Become an activist just like the Left does. Get out there, moveamericaforward.com give them monetary support. March in the GOE. Write the troops. Write editors do whatever you can whenever you can to make a difference or shut up.
The statement was made as a fact without factual support.
The burden of proof is on the accuser............but there is none.
You can disagree with the President on any issue you wish, but besmirching his character without evidence is not acceptable.
This scenario has been going on for a long time.
Americans get fed up with big government and elect Republicans. Republicans do okay until:
1) The media convinces Americans the current Republican government isn't doing enough, and Democrats are elected.
2) The media convinces Americans the current Republican government is doing something wrong, and Democrats are elected. Or
3) The current crop of Republicans wuss out and cave to the Democrats, which still has the effect of shifting the balance of power.
As soon as the Democrats bloat the government some more, Americans get fed up and the cycle starts again.
------------
Professional politicians have this game down pat. Folks that don't believe Washington, D.C. operates on the good-ole-boy system are kidding themselves.
