They're marching to "stop global warming" which has been identified as caused by the CO2 emmissions of Western democracies. In essence by controlling the economic development of Western democracies and taxing their economies they will "stop global warming". Sound familiar yet?

Last century it was the bougeosie oppressing the proletariate which justified the political and often violent reorganization of society and compulsory re-distribution of wealth. Now it's climate change caused by the wealthy democracies which stand accused and need to be controlled and forced to compensate their 'victims'.

Make no mistake, these people are Marxists.

See post #38; apparently that story was *really* popular here. I can't imagine why!

I am wary to say this; but... after reading in the past few months of a congressional hearing being postponed on global warming due to winter weather, The North Pole venture to study global warming being concelled because of extreme cold & frostbite, and now a story like this. I think our Heavenly father is sending a message "I AM IN CONTROL!"

My bet is that Global Warming as a phrase will have to disappear. But you can't use Climate Change because then you might head back to the 1500 year cycle which you can't stop and will naturally occur. There needs to be a new catch phase to help Al Gore and the boys survive. Global must appear somewhere in the phase because you have to show a connection to your poor neighbors in Africa who are counting on your carbon tax dollars to help prop up their lousy economy.

Particularly after walking eight miles in a blizzard...

"Please note the subtle shift from "Global Warming" to "Climate Change". This way, ALL bases are covered."

Any weather other than complete calm is undeniable evidence of our carbon footprint! [barf]

"Particularly after walking eight miles in a blizzard..."

I thought only my parents walked eight miles in a blizzard (on the way to school, uphill both ways, of course).

How is getting a bunch a people to walk in the snow helping the situation??? People are so lame...

It's the same as sleeping in a cardboard box for one night as a gesture of helping the homeless.

Our church, Episcopal - in Connecticut, wanted to do that on the church lawn until I mentioned at Vestry that it was a cowardly act which would accomplish nothing except easing their consciences.

And if the volunteers of this token gesture of sympathy really wanted to do something meaningful, they would invite homeless people to come live in their houses, rent free with free food, for a week or two or even until the homeless people could find work and afford their own place to live.

Neither the sleep-in nor the invitation to the homeless to share living quarters ever got off the ground.
