Marchers for the Interfaith Walk for Climate Rescue brave the wind and biting snow on Bridge Street at the outset of an eight-day walk to Boston. |
NORTHAMPTON - As a nor'easter arrived in the area, participants in the Interfaith Walk for Climate Rescue began their trek from Northampton to Boston to stop global warming, an eight-day journey predicted to be the largest of its kind for the environment in the U.S. Walkers descended the steps of the Unitarian Society building on Main Street in Northampton around 2 p.m., with supporters singing "Keep on Walking Forward" by Pat Humphries, while elementary school students with signs reading "Stop Global Warming Now" lined the walkway to send them off into the storm.
"We will walk through it," said the Rev. Andrea Ayvazian of the Haydenville Congregational Church, an organizer of the event. "This is truly an historical moment where people are reaching up and grabbing hold of this issue."
The cause drew 127 men, women and children for the first eight-mile leg of the trip, expected to end tonight at the Grace Episcopal Church in Amherst, where walkers will spend the night before departing for Belchertown tomorrow.
Participants planned to cross the Coolidge Bridge before turning onto Route 47 in Hadley, but a car accident on the bridge may alter their plans.
See more on the march in Saturday's Gazette.

One wonders if the irony even occurs to them.

LOL Irony is not something Northampton approves of!! Just like reality, or morality! ROFL. If Northampton doesn't see it, it does not exist! So they put out there only what they want seen. (too bad the weather refuses to cooperate with them!)Obviously, people who don't want to live in a delusional world, stay away from Northampton, at all costs!!

Please note the subtle shift from "Global Warming" to "Climate Change". This way, ALL bases are covered.

LOLOLOLOL.
Blindly following their beliefs, regardless of all evidence to the contrary.
Sounds like a cult, to me.

Reminds me of the guy whose wife confronts him with panties she found in his car, he just claims the panties are his. If their big lies are exposed then they lie ever more.

thanks! There are pix on the march's official site too. This is right up there with the big, SOLD OUT speech on global warming in Minneapolis that had to be cancelled due to a BLIZZARD. Bwa ha ha!
I heard about the march on WBZ radio a little earlier and then read the picture caption in the Globe.
Seen here along MA Route 9, the marchers brave the balmy mid March weather
The temperature has gone up 0.11 degrees every decade! It's so hot out now! And it's all OUR fault! Everybody, shut down the factories! Get rid of your cars and walk 20 miles to work daily! And never mind how much energy St. Albert of Gore is using up in his mansion right now...

...participants in the Interfaith Walk for Climate Rescue began their trek from Northampton to Boston to stop global warming...So, Global Warming is going to be over in 8 days?

Air America/prog talk was taken off the air in New Haven, CT, Boston MA, and Burlington, VT
IT IS STILL ON THE AIR in "Happy Valley": Northampton, Springfield, and up in Greenfield too. What does that tell you?
(in nearby Amherst, UMass prof. Jenny Traschen spoke out about how the flag was a symbol of racism, terrorism, oppression, etc....on Monday, September 10, 2001...)

I work a night job at a postal sorting center 18 miles away. It took me a mere 1 hr 45 min. to get to work yesterday (how much gas did I burn up in the traffic jam?**) in that snowstorm.
I SUPPORT GLOBAL WARMING. bring it on! I'm tired of this cold weather.
**--liberals talk about pollution and global warming yet when you suggest the tolls of the Mass Turnpike come down-- thus saving a lot of idling at the booths--they are dead set against it. That money--it's _for the children_...you see.

Looks like they left their signs behind. LOL!
