I do hope that after we crush their nuclear and other offensive military capabilities, we don't try to occupy Iran with ground forces.
I would have thought we learned in Vietnam to NOT send warriors into a hostile environment, unless they were being sent to kill everyone in sight that resisted or showed tendency to resist...
But we did it again is Beirut, Somalia, Bosnia, Afghanistan and now Iraq.
Our "leaders" are either terminally stupid or intentionally prefer to get our warriors killed and spare the enemy.
We have to stop thinking of ourselves as policemen or an urban renewal workforce.. Leave that to the survivors -- once we've sufficiently punished, defeated and or destroyed the enemy..
