Valerie Plame Gives Committee Secret Decoder Ring

(2007-03-16) — Valerie Plame, whose CIA career ended when columnist Robert Novak blew her cover in July 2003, today testifies before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee whose members will receive a special secret decoder ring so they can understand her without revealing sensitive intel in a public forum.
Ms. Plame (aka Valerie Wilson) lived such a secret life that when she and her husband, former ambassador Joe Wilson, appeared in a photo spread in Vanity Fair magazine, she was compelled by CIA covert spy protocol to wear dark sunglasses.
The former agent will speak in a top-secret cipher language. Committee members will break the encryption as she speaks using the secret decoder device.
“America’s security is my life’s passion,” said Ms. Plame, “Although I’ve been away from the Agency for several years, there may be still people in Europe who think I’m a simple business woman, and don’t realize that my glamorous, willowy, blond movie-star good looks disguised a master spy.”
Ms. Plame denied allegations that she’s testifying at the House hearing simply to provide footage for a future Super Bowl TV ad for the internet hosting company GoDaddy.com.
Meanwhile, former vice presidential aide I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby awaits sentencing on four counts of lying to investigators and obstructing a federal probe which found that no crime had been committed in the alleged outing of Ms. Plame.
Robert Novak remains at large.

Valery was so embarassed after the hearing; she discovered she was taking her answers from her and Joe's MOVIE script notes. OOPS.
More importantly; maybe our "intelligence problem" within the CIA is nothing more than 20 years of hiring based on looks and instead of intelligence. Today's hearing kind of makes that obvious. I have never heard such a clueless person. The thought that there are more like her at the CIA makes me wonder if we can ever trust the CIA's intelligence.
Maybe she's really still undercover and is just pretending to be clueless. It's a brilliant cover.
According to VAl; of course you can be "covert" while you are working at Langley because agents are taught to make sure they aren't being tailed as they drive in and drive out of the headquarters everyday.
But she forgot to explain that if you are being followed obviously your "covert" status is already blown!!!
Sheese. What a dumb lady.

If she WAS covert as she asserted in her hearing today, why did Fitzgerald not level charges on anyone? Doesn't make sense to me.
But...but...they did! They got "Scooter" Libby, which cast a "dark cloud" over the Vice President!

I thought that the afore mentioned device was always used for super super top secret discusions and communications!

Only if you care about the truth.
If the truth means nothing to you and you hate the President, hate Conservatives, hate Republicans, think that Rove is an evil genius and you believe that Chaney is the power behind the throne (in other words a liberal Democrat) then Plame is an undeserving victim of the Right Wing Attack Machine.
