REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Family and friends of Danielle Munoz gathered Wednesday night at a candlelight vigil to remember her.
Family members said not only was it an emotional farewell but a plea for justice for the man who killed her.
"Her only mistake was returning back to him and loving a man with no heart, no feelings and no consciounse, Danielle's mother, Teresa Munoz told Local 4 with tears in her eyes. "My daughter told me had a gun and yet she kept returning back to him."
The body of Munoz was found shot in the neck, stuffed in the trunk of a car outside an oil change shop in Redford Township on Monday.
Police said her boyfriend Ali Hourani is responsible.
"Her life was taken. She was young and didn't deserve to die," Lori Saad, Munoz's cousin, told Local 4.
Hourani may have fled to Lebanon, according to investigators.
Police believe it is a case of domestic violence.
Munoz's cousin told police Munoz warned them in her journal about her boyfriend's alleged abuse. Her cousin read from her journal, "So sad, I never knew love could hit you whenever it got mad. Call you names or smack you around or toss you on the ground. Or make you feel useless. If that's love than I don't want it anymore
Her mother said she hope's Danielle's death is a lesson for everyone about domestic violence. " If it's abuse, he don't love you. If he hits you, he don't love you."
With the help of the Department of Homeland Security, investigators tracked down Hourany in Beirut.
Redford Township police is handling the case from this moment on.
Police said it will be difficult to try and make contact with Hourany since the U.S. does not have an extradition treaty with Lebanon.
Sigh.
And further down it says they found him in Lebanon (great writing). They'll never get him back here.
"Hi, your name is... what? Abdul, Ali, whatever? Nice talking to you, bye-bye. No, no thanks, don't need you to buy me a drink, I'm leaving now. No, no, I don't have a phone. Bye."

This is where my rage goes crazy. If (I am not saying that word) Lebanon does not have an extradition treaty with the USA why on earth do we let these people in our country to begin with? If a country won't have such a treaty with us why do we want its people here? So they can murder & go back home? Shaking my head again.
and he can die there in Lebanon, probably a much less expensive prosecution even.
If I was this woman's family, I'd already have things in motion to make it so.
I have no clue. And why is there Diplomatic immunity still? They do a crime ..they do the time IMO. I don't care if they are a diplomat, you shouldn't be able to run back home where we can't get you back for a trial ...Thats been a very big issue with me for years. If someone does a crime like rape, murder etc it shouldn't matter who they are or where they come from ....we should be able to get justice for the victim.
Good question. There is no reason we should let anyone from those countries into the USA.
I think many people agree with that. We don't need them. I think after 9/11 we should have just stopped letting them in. Seems like common sense to me. Also seems to be a big lack of common sense in Washington DC & Hollywood. Shaking my head again...
Okay... you know what? It's time I came to terms with the fact that I'm pretty racist, because there is no way I would get involved with an Arabic man. Just no way.

Amen - AMEN - again: AMEN!!
I turned down what would have been a lucrative bookkeeping audit for embezzlement. The company was a group of family members-one owner and "family" employees- and money was disappearing. I knew in my heart that they would not like what I would find, and being white and female, I would not be believed. I also doubted they would take legal action against the possible embezzler. I said "thanks, but no thanks" and ceased discussions.
Won't date them now and didn't in the past. Won't try to be "friends" of same, either.
Too many women think they can "change" the heart of a man who is a stone cold killer from his first breath.
I turned down what might have been a
You aren't a racist, you're a realist. Those men have been raised to think women are less than human. Add to that they hate dogs and you have the distilled essence of any relationship they may have with a woman. Many of them are really nice to young men though:^)
Is he a MUSLIM?......Hummmmm.....
Another muslime "honor killing"?
She was a pretty girl.

AMEN, and I guess thanks to education & experience I am as well. As the mother of 2 girls and another girl due next month, I will be truthful in letting them know how Islam treats/uses women to be sure they don't even consider the possibilities. Maybe we'll head off all potential muslim suitors by buying them all BIG dogs (and guns) when they first move out on their own.
