There is a German-American holiday: Steuben Day.

When is it? I'll be sure to celebrate with some pork and sauerkraut. I don't have to go too far back: my paternal grandparents were German immigrants.

According to Wikipedia, Steuben Day is September 17. There are parades in Chicago (early September) and New York annually, and German food is served. The parade in NY is connected with an Oktoberfest.

So Obama still has six months to find some German ancestry. Or will HRC beat him to it? (LOL!)
