Political maverick and Texas House member Ron Paul formally announced his candidacy for the president of the United States this morning during the Washington Journal call-in program on C-SPAN.
Paul stands as one of the last remaining believers in strict enforcement of the Constitution and a limited federal government in Washington D.C. Paul ran unsuccessfully for the White House in 1988 under the Libertarian ticket, but now caucuses with the Republican Party. His political platform includes low taxes, individual liberties and a principled belief in the right to life.
His presidential exploratory committee formed earlier this year stirred up his enormous grassroots support from heartland voters, small government believers and fed-up Republicans who believe current GOP candidates offer no real solutions to an expanding federal government and refuse to tackle America's important issues, such as illegal immigration and an erosion of American's civil liberties.

Give up on America with the rest of the GOP in charge . . .
fat, nepotists, happily eating at the Waffle House on Sunday mornings trying to preach pro-life to the elders
and save the waffling iron for the Edwards, Hilarys, and Mitt Romneys who needs it to press his hair !!
GOP all waffle on the war - except the likes of Jim Leach,
who's not running -
and Ron Paul who IS running for President . . .
. . . if anyone truly cared -
.
"You turn on another Marine because he thinks Ron Paul is a joke?"
Nope. I smacked you down for sheer bad attitude. If you don't like Ron Paul, come out and say what it is about him you don't care for and why. Just general piss-off won't cut it. If I go to a McGiuliRomney thread, I state my case, for example, that the whole trio're socialists/gun-grabbers wearing shabby republican clothing (and why I think so) and unless somebody starts trying to piss in my Cheerios, I'm done. When you came on here with one helluva attitude, I posted to you, you yelled back and so did I and now I'm done. I will resume my regular tone of posting.
Yes, I know it's God, Corps, Country... and I know that respect is mandatory... top down and bottom up. So what I'll do is apologize to you for jumping in your sh!t and you can refrain from badmouthing a presidential candidate who isn't here and able to defend himself. I don't care that you won't support him; that's your choice. Personally, I think he'd be a great president because he actually believes that the Constitution means what it says and he'd actually WORK AT reducing the size and scope of FedGov back to its Constitutional limits. He'd secure our borders and DO something about the illegals besides grant them amnesty. He'd RESTORE the Second Amendment, which is VERY important to me. There are a LOT of the toys I usta play with that I'd love to be able to get and play with again... some of the WWII and Korea vintage stuff I used in ITR and beyond. I didn't even see my first Mattel-special until Staging Bn at Pendleton in '69. But I did get to play with the M-79 Blooper and it's something I'd LOVE to own!
Oh, yeah, I AM a grandpa, thanks.
Carry your ass old Man.
If you think I'm reading that bullsh*t then you're as dumb as you look. I understand exactly where you're coming from, You're a shitbird sellout and I do not want to hear anything you have to say.
And what, exactly, do you think I have "sold out?" Country? Constitution? What? I honor the oath I swore innumerable times to protect and defend the Constitution for the United States and, apparently unlike you, I actually took the time to read and study what I was to protect. So if you have a problem with that, it's YOUR problem and none of mine. You're family, nothing to be done about that, but you need to do your homework on what it is that we are supposed to be protecting.
How many times does it needed to be said before it clicks?
It is God, Corps and then Country.
I do not give a damn about your oath to the Constitution stupid. Your priorities are out of whack. You do not make the sort of comments you made towards another Marine for allot of things but you especially do not do it over some, any politician.
Semper Fi...
That is what you sold out.
Now seriously, go away cuz I am through dealing with you.
Nice to read a pro-American post. thanks,
Any time! Any time at all!
A person who allies himself with Cindy Sheehan and Lew Rockwell is no more a Constitutionalist than Hillary is. Ron Paul is like Benedict Arnold: A great American except for that whole treason thing.
Ron Paul is the Benedict Arnold of conservatism: A great American except for that little treason thing.
Will you be supporting Cindy Sheehan for Secretary of Defense as well?
Prayers up for your continued healing.
He's a nutjob because he thinks he's a conservative while he allies himself with the Cindy Sheehan Left. Sure, he's got some very good conservative positions...and Benedict Arnold was one of the most heroic soldiers in American history right up until that one little error...
Paul voted with the cut and run crowd on Friday. But more interestingly, if you do a ggole search to find what he's written and said about the war, you will find that he lies about it on a regular basis. There are some people who honestly believe this war is extra-Constitutional. I don't think they have a clue, but they're honest. Ron Paul is not one of those people.
How about a new voice at the Defense Department? Let's get Cindy Sheehan for SecDef!
No, Cindy Sheehan or Lew Rockwell will be his SecDef pick...and they're as well qualified for the job as he is qualified to be Prez!
And him playing huggybodkissyface with the Cindy Sheehan Left is a strong point for you?
Good on you, and I'm not just saying that because Ron Paul sucks.
