Very well-documented solar links are in the movie

That is an excellent video! I downloaded it, put it on a DVD and watched it last nite.

I'm passing this 'un around.

I wonder if any of this will be questioned by Algore and his crew? This is the type of proof to counter the BS that he is shouting and profiting from and he should be ashamed of his behavior.

Part of the problem is that if stars really are thermonuclear engines as we've been taught all our lives, there would be no reason to think they would heat up and cool off periodically.

There is however a growing body of evidence that stars are basically electrical and plasma-physics phenomena and not thermonuclear engines.

If as some of these proponents claim stars actually act like lightning rods or focal points of cosmic plasma discharge, then you would EXPECT them to heat up and cool off periodically as they move through regions of space with lesser or greater electrical potential difference from themselves.

That would be game, set, and match against the man-made warming freaks.

The Sun clearly has cycles. It is not the never-changing monolith that some think and the global warming crowd trumpets.

The Sun clearly has an 11 year cycle. That 11 year cycle is really composed of 2 related 11 year cycles making another 22 year cycle. Those cycles vary considerably in size and length.

The Sun clearly has at least one longer cycle. The Maunder Minimum of 400 years ago shows the Sun might have fairly large variations over longer time scales.

The 100,000 year ice age cycle is likely affected by solar variation as much as changes in the earth's orbit.

The climate change community puts the variance at 0.1%. Why they discount it so much is obvious.

Our chosen environment is liberty, and liberty is the central organizing principle of America. To be consistent with our most cherished principle, our environmental policies must be consistent with liberty. Restricting liberty not only denies Americans their chosen environment, but also constrains environmental progress.

Liberty has powerful environmental benefits. Freedom unleashes forces most needed to make our environment cleaner, healthier and safer for the future. It fosters scientific inquiry, technological innovation, entrepreneurship, rapid information exchange, accuracy and flexibility.

Free people work to improve the environment, and liberty is the energy behind environmental progress."

The correlation of our climate with other planets is weak and probably has little to do with the sun.

My nomination for stupidest thing I've heard on this subject.

What, pray tell, IS the correlation? Or is it just some grand coincidence that they are ALL warming at the same time?

Our planet is warming a bit and other planets and moons are warming and maybe cooling a bit for various reasons. The only reason we would have in common would be changes in solar irradiance, but that change (increase) is small, something like 0.1% per century (IIRC). The other solar effects that might warm our planet like the cosmic rays that get by the sun's magnetic field are applicable to our planet, not the others. So the correlation to other planetary warming is weak, if any.

Well, who are these scientists to dispute the wisdom of the Almighty Knower of All Things About the Climate Worth Knowing Al Gore himself? I mean who do these eggheads think they are? The Great Genius Gore has pronounced man-made global warming a fact. The impudent upstarts. (hrummp)

Great video and kudos to the Brits for showing it. I have passed it far & wide and hope that some US Network has the guts to pick it up.

BTW... From the ending of the film, I have developed my new tag line.
