>> This is an excerpt from the new issue of Rolling Stone, on newsstands until March 22nd.
Deep in a maze of adobe-colored huts at the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort conference center in Indian Wells, California, men in polo shirts are striding to 8:30 a.m. meetings. Most are gathering to debate recent advances in re-wetting drops for contact lenses -- "I have superior lens technology to Bob, I know that," one man jabbers, croissant in hand -- but beyond the golf course, in a hut with a majestic plaque reading villa capri, six Viacom employees huddle over coffee on polka-dotted chairs. This is the secret corporate retreat for Comedy Central's most popular, antinomian and flat-out awesomest show: South Park...

Man Bear Pig....
They basically skewer anyone from any side whenever there's a joke to be made! If you can't laugh at yourself, and at the extremes of your own side, then you shouldn't laugh at anyone else!
So many forums around have people my age (20s) thinking they're being subversive by saying Bush sucks. 'I know people are gonna come and get me for saying this, and I know it's going against the crowd to say this, but I think Dubya is Satan and he is destroying the world with his ebil and OMG that's right he's dumb LOL.'
You are not being subversive, you silly f**ks. Do the eighty-billion agreements tacked on to your post make you think you are? Or are you and your eighty-billion new-found subversive friends gonna get together down at the coffee shop to smoke cloves together and talk about how The Man is bringing you down?
Once again, as in my teenhood, South Park is a ghastly thing to watch, for all the 'wrong' reasons. So I do. Woohoo!
The "f**k this f**k that" magazine?
Blasphemy is all stench and skank.
When Team America came out libs went nuts; "these guys have sold out BIG time" (they felt it was too far to the right).
One of the SP creators has been quoted as saying "We hate
conservatives but we really f---in' hate liberals."
That is likely unrelated - Viacom who owns Comedy Central is in an ongoing war with Google.
>>Google was slammed today by a demand from Viacom to remove over 100,000 MTV, Daily Show, SouthPark BET and other copyrighted materials. This comes after months of failed negotiations between the two companies to find a way for Google to compensate Viacom for this content. According to Viacom, he clips in question have been viewed over 1 billion times.<<
I remember the quote. I think that was Matt Stone.
Blasphemy?
>>Don't tell me this is ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE -- criticizing anyone for not ascribing to standards of decency?
The "f**k this f**k that" magazine?<<
Hmmm.
Rolling Stone is upset that the commercial would include the letters "n*ggers" when the it did not spell the "n word" but they did not complain about the episode that was censored for daring to show Mohammed's image while the image of pooping on the American flag was not censored.
RS, like much of America has their priorities out of whack and South Park does a great job of pointing that out.
Timing had nothing to do with it VIACOM told Youtube to remove ALL VIACOM content off its web site (South Park, Nickalodian Cartoons, old reruns) or they would sue Youtube and charge them $150,000 per video of any their copywritten product being broadcast! Not just South Park but for ANY episode from ANY series they owned. Thats why they are gone. NBC/Universal is also starting to threatening to do the same thing.
I used read Rolling Stone ES when I was young and naive I pick up that issue LMAO
Ridiculous, mocking depictions of Jesus Christ, God in Human Flesh, the perfect Lamb of God, who died for you and me, in our place?
Yeah, blasphemy.
But don't worry. I won't be suicide bombing your favorite coffie shop.
If Rolling Stone hates it, you KNOW it's right.
"Ma'am, I'm here to spray for hippies."
I object to that! I must scrutinize every porno movie to make sure I know what I'm seeing :)
Are you serial?
"I feel sorry for Mr. Gore. He doesn't have any friends."
I think what they have found over time is that most conservatives will at least laugh at themselves, but libs have no sense of humor whatsoever, and therefore make better targets.
