The IRA are present day.
Of course, no one ever takes the word of an Irishman on the IRA....
Clinton met with Adams
Bush met with Adams
Adams met with Castro
What does it all mean?
There are no peace-seekers in Sinn Fein/IRA.
I want to see all Sinn Fein/IRAers killed or captured.
> The IRA is an illegal organisation, Sinn Fein and the IRA
> are one and the same,...
Some folks on the other side say the same thing about the UVF and the Orange Order, don't they?
The IRA are present day.
Of course, no one ever takes the word of an Irishman on the IRA....
It's a respite, of sorts.
Nothing like a nice celtic Donnybrook to break the monopoly on Freepers stoning each other over Guiliani.
;0)
Outstanding Post!
Irish_Thacherite,
"The IRA is an illegal organisation, Sinn Fein and the IRA are one and the same, therefore Sinn Fein should not be a legal party to begin with."
The assertion is irrelevant. Mr. Adams was lawfully elected by a majority of voters. We extol the virtues of democracy, and yet when democratic actions occur that do not meet our liking, we denounce the democratic process? There's no logic in that position.
The double standard that some Irish Americans have when it comes to Sinn Fein knows no bounds. If Gerry Adams has a point, Yasser Arafat had a point.
There are no peace-seekers in Sinn Fein/IRA.
Hello?
It is Democratic when they can't vote for who would win?
Has not Gerry Adams renounced terrorism?
You might want to consider a reiteration.
Unless of course you are of the mindset that leopards do not change their spots.
Personally, I think that England created Sinn Fein, and Gerry Adams, and a whole lot of their own other problems.
Gosh, the great famine of the late 1840s would never have been referred to as a famine if only the British had deemed it reasonable to actually share some food with the poor Irish serfs in their own land. Fortunately, England also created great British statesmen such as Parnell, and a few others.
And God helped make the United States of America too, in order to put the British in their place every now and then.
Isn't it a Protestant tradition? It's an ACLU mindset o believe that OO marches should be banned in Catholic areas lest they be offended.
Are there any other terrorists in Northern Ireland other than the IRA?
Yes, except the Loyalists get unequivically condemned across the board, here - is it too much to ask that every single poster on this website unequivically condemn the IRA?
Funny, "Got a problem with freedom of religion?"
No, that's the irony of it. You apparently do.
Where?? Where did I say I have a problem with the freedom of religion?? No where on this thread did I say that, and in fact I defended it wrt the OO.
BTW, I am a Catholic living the Republic.
BTW, I am a Catholic living the Republic.
Howya.....
It is Democratic when they can't vote for who would win?
Sinn Fein are a terrorist organisation and therefore should not be a legal party - and screw the bastards who vote for them.
Has not Gerry Adams renounced terrorism?
No. He pretended to.
You might want to consider a reiteration.
Why?
Unless of course you are of the mindset that leopards do not change their spots.
I don't believe democracies like the UK or Eire should negotiate with terrorists.
Personally, I think that England created Sinn Fein, and Gerry Adams, and a whole lot of their own other problems.
Yeah, and Israel created the PLO and Arafat... < /sarcasm>

A crop failure 160 years ago has no bearing whatsoever on the atrocities carried out by the IRA.
And God helped make the United States of America too, in order to put the British in their place every now and then.
By funding NORAID???
