I stand corrected on which government did it; however, I still maintain that the Indians have received less than honest treatment from the Americans.

On that, we generally agree. Though I must say, breaking treaties was a two-way street. One side had to lose eventually. In many cases, the US government was caught in the middle between the Indians breaking treaties and the often ungovernable white settlers breaking treaties.
