As someone born and raised in the North but with roots in the South, let me just say there are few things as offensive to a southerner as a Yankee trying to affect a southern accent, especially a Hollywood type.

I heard her do this eight years ago on WLIB radio in NYC. She was running for Senate then. I clearly remember her telling a caller, "I'm sure that your mama...."
I thought, 'mama'? Would she ever have used that word talking to any other audience? Of course not, just pandering to the poor helpless pickaninnies.
