I wish you were correct. Unfortunately, the left is full of ideological zealots and reflexive voters who would likely vote for Gumby if he were put forth as the Dem candidate. Remember that despite the Swift Boat issue, all the verbal gaffes, and his anti-American Vietnam antics Kerry still came way too close to winning the presidency.
