The problem, if his performance at the CPAC is any indication, is that he makes watching a snail race look exciting. He also seems to have a tendency to lecture.

McCain has the same chance of becoming president as I do.
I'll continue to tilt at windmills. I'm pulling for Duncan Hunter.

Ted Kennedy killed someone while in a drunken stupor. Please don't compare Rudy to him.

yes, that is Rudy's style. more of a conversational approach, rather then the "booming oratory" type of speeches.

"We must draft Newt Gingrich, it seems.
You can draft him, but he won't get my vote.

Did Duncan Hunter show up anywhere in this? Seemed to me a day or two ago he was coming on very well; apologies for just beginning to pay attention.

John McCain missed the Conservative Conservative Action Conference (CPAC)
Not sure what impact this has.. If the author would bother to check I think he'll find McCain didn't attend in 99 but crushed Bush in the NH primary something like 49-31. CPAC is probably over rated somewhat.

You parsed his words to create a statement he didn't make. He said:
I like Giuliani's stance on foreign affairs and the war against terrorism, but otherwise, it'd be like nominating Ted Kennedy. Do we really want that?

I think it's a valid observation that on most social issues Giuliani is significantly to the left of most Freepers, and that's what 2ndDivisionVet said. He acknowledged some conservative credentials. As to your statement about him believing gun rights are a state issue, he definitely should have made that point at CPAC, and according to reports I've read, he stayed far away from Gays, Guns and God. I'm still open to Rudy, but would need assurance beyond what I've seen that he won't be part of a gun grab.

Keep and eye on McCain to see if he pulls a "Ross Perot" and runs as a third party candidate. That was the only way that Bill Clinton got elected.
It is also be the only way that Hillary can win.
To: Hildy
Good luck with that. Newt said yesterday he will have an announcement Sept. 30.

Dude, I really don't give a flip about my credibility with you, and if you'll read my post, I was quoting another Freeper. It wasn't my statement.

I'd vote for Hillary before I'd vote for McPain. At least I'd know what to expect.
