Actually, why are such people here at all? This IS a social conservative website. There are literally thousands of liberal sites for those who detest social conservatives. The only reason I can think of for them to post here is that it's the usual agression of the progressives who can't stand the thought of any opposition to their sick totalitarian agenda.
The Left has been much better at taking a long view of history. The Right hasn't discovered the merits of that, yet.
Appears to be. Guess no one has heard the term "phyrric victory."
Why don't you post the truth? Would that be too much to ask of some of you who claim to be these big social conservative members of the religious right. I have never seen so much spin posted in my life on here from people that claim to be so superior in their beliefs.
Amazing!
There is plenty of name calling going on around here. It's getting ugly. Both sides are giving as good as they are getting though. Humpty Dumpty is close to falling off the wall and I don't know if FR will be able to pull us back together again.
Back in 97 when I joined it was definitely a conservative site with a lot of open, lively discussion on a myriad of topics. Since GWB was elected it has become more of a Republican partisan site.
This used to be a consrvative we site until the clouns arrived with their stolen circus tent!
Accusing me of having a reading comprehension problem...do you have one?
Well, why don't you make a list and hand it over to Jim Robinson and have him ban them???
He may already have a list ready for transmittal.
"The question posed for discussion: Is FreeRepublic a Conservative Website Or Is It A Republican Website? and Is FreeRepublic Carrying On The Original Intent Of The Owner?"
Jim Robinson has made it quite clear(especially over the past month) that indeed this is a conservative website.
A list keeper, huh? Interesting -- in a paranoid sort of way.
Don't go getting all prophetic on me! ;-)
But where is this site headed now?

I'd rather flip off a fanatic than submit and await the time for shearing.
I won't leave either and I am far from being a RINO. I will vote for whoever is on the republican ticket even if I do not agree with everything they do. It not smart to lose on every issue just because you will lose on some.
I want a strong military, and conservative judges. We will have neither with a democrat for president and should have both with a republican. Staying home or voting for a third party candidate is in reality voting for the democrat.
I also want the definition of marriage to stay as it is ,am against abortion, and want our borders controlled. I hope to get those things with republican candidates but I know darn sure I will not get them with democrats.
The people who voted for Perot and got Clinton for all of us , did damage to our country that will last forever. We are a 2 party country, like it or not, and FR is not a democrat site so it leans strongly republican, in my opinion.
You're hearing and seeing "stuff?"
Hmmmm....
In a metaphorical sense, only!!!
I read your column faithfully every week in the Orlando Weekly. But I need to ask two things. What does the abbreviation GGG stand for? And what was the website that you mentioned a while ago for men to meet transsexuals?
A Faithful Reader
GGG stands for "good, giving, and game," which is what we should all strive to be for our sex partners. Think "good in bed," "giving equal time and equal pleasure," and "game for anythingwithin reason." And that tranny website I mentioned was, I believe, www.freerepublic.com.

Sadly, you continue to equate social conservatism (conservative standing on issues such as abortion; tolerance and acceptance of homosexual behavior as 'normal'; forced support through taxation, of research and application that is antithetical to our faith) as the 'social right'. Actually, conservatism originated and has been sustained for lo these many years through just the positions you prefer to denigrate as 'too far to the right of pure conservatism'. This smacks of an Alinskyesque tactic, to freeze the target ... well, you likely know the rest of the methodology since you're employing it so precisely to try and change the definition of conservatism.
