Just to sum it up for you:
Rudy:
1. Sued gun makers and dealers to put them out of business using the same tactics as sarah brady
2. Called for a nationwide "assault weapons" (meaning scary looking semi auto weapons) ban STRONGER than the one passed by a democrat controlled congress and signed by bill clinton
3. Called for nationwide handgun licensing. Meaning he'd want it as bad as NY city's program, which would make it nigh impossible for most people to buy and own handguns.
4. supports nationwide handgun registration
5. Supported the 'brady bill'.
6. Took the number of handgun permits in NY city from around 30,000 (under a democrat mayor) to around 2,000 (under a supposedly 'conservative' mayor).

And I'm sure more will come out. But you'll still refuse to believe he's a gun grabber, won't you?

As I said before, Rudy as mayor with a city out of control with crime is one thing. As president, he would have to have all of that legislated first, which, even if Congress remains in the hands of the Democrats would be next to impossible (excluding the assault weapons ban). If Rudy is nominated and elected, turning the Country against him that quickly would not be part of his agenda. Now, if he comes out and clarifies that as you laid it out during the debate, good. That would definitely turn the tide against him.

Most people don't really care about his abortion or gay rights stands, but a comprehensive federal gun control program would not sit well, and I suspect he's not that stupid.

BTW, it would still be interesting to see the viewpoints of all the other candidates.
