Idiotic. Disgusting. Stupid. Moronic.
I guess you could say that Ann loves to shock us, but at this point, whos shocked? She obviously cant behave well enough to attend a respectable political gathering. Its not a lack of intelligence. Its an indifference to self-control and a preening sort of narcissism that compels her to need the spotlight, even if its unflattering.
(For those of you who dont know what Im talking about, heres audio of her calling John Edwards a faggot at CPAC today.)

Michelle Malkin -
***4:15pm update***
Ann Coulter just finished her riff on Al Gore, tossed out some cute jokes ("You can understand why Hollywood is concerned about global warming. You know what heat does to plastic."), and ended with a cheap one-liner about John Edwards being a "faggot." (Paraphrasing) She said she would refrain from commenting on Edwards because "if you say faggot, you have to go to rehab."
A smattering of laughter.
Not from this corner.
Crickets chirping.

Bryan Preston of 'Hot Air' -
Ann Coulter is speaking at CPAC as I write. As is typical, she gave a brief speech full of her usual witticisms, including a few brilliant attacks on Al Gores green hypocrisy. All was good. Untill the last few seconds, when she launched into a joke about John Edwards.
Heres what she said.
Id say something about John Edwards, but if you say faggot you have to go to rehab.
Im no fan of John Edwards, but thats just a stupid joke. Its over the line. The laughter it generated across the room was more than a little annoying.
Last year it was raghead. This year its calling John Edwards a faggot. Two years in a row, Coulter has finished up an otherwise sharp CPAC routine with an obnoxious slur that liberals will fling at conservatives for years to come.
Thanks, Ann.

My comments... what should have been a day to celebrate a Reaganesque speech by Duncan Hunter, and good speeches by Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee was overshadowed by an unhinged comment by Ann Coulter. She is an absolute idiot for saying something like this at CPAC.
Please tell me you aren't actually offended...........by a typo????? Come on!
No one enjoys hurting someones feelings. And most of us would quietly apologize to the person. But as has been pointed out repeatedly, this was NOT an insult to Edwards, it was his backing of policies that send folks to rehab, for uttering something deemed as hate speech!
I assume that is who you want to be. If you also claim to be a Christian - then I see your behavior as a lack of character.
,... yupperzzz to post # 24 , and a "tip of the hat"
though I think she could have made the quip with a much more "crafted" phrase , still using the same word ,...
.. , as The Wicked Witch said , "these things must be done delicately" .. .. no?
The timing was bad, the venue was perfect.
If you can't make such a remark in a room full of conservatives, where can you?
Having her attack on RudyG get lost in all the hysteria, in the aftermath of that ONE moment, was unfortunate.
See #757 adn STOP whining!
You need to get up to speed, Skippy.
If it's stupid you like, you would know that the use of that word was the basis for demanding the resignation of a member of Congress... by another member of Congress.
You want to compare "stupid"?

Aside from everything else, Ann's the only quasi-major voice on the right I've ever seen muster the fortitude it takes to take on the darwinists in any sort of a meaningful way. That has to count for something.
OK Gee... she's not as trashy as Paris Hilton either. Is that our standard of measure?
I'm not offended by Ann, I'm no wilting wallflower myself. What I think is ironic is how many FReeper men actually find her attractive, when I find her to be sour, negative, mouthy and shrill. She's ever man's nightmare ex-wife. Funny how men can be attractive to women who might as well have a sign over their head flashing "b!tch" and they never seem to notice it. Then they wonder why they get taken.
It boggles the mind :~)
Actually, I don't think she cares. She got the result she desired. Everyone's talking about her today.
Frankly, I don't know why what one person says can possibly be such a big deal, though her remarks were inappropriate. She's one insignificant person. Her opinion isn't terribly important.
I'm getting the following impressions from reading the posts challenging Ann, attacking Ann and, particularly, saying that somehow she's harming conservatism:
1) Ann is too sophisticated for too many conservatives.
2) Conservatives are gun-shy on dozens of fronts, even as they proclaim the right to bear arms.
3) Teddy Kennedy says worse things about the President pretty much on a daily basis, and with less than a 10th of the wit of Ann
4) Ann is the Samuel Clemmens of our day, and everybody on this site better get used to it; she will go down in history as an EXTRAORDINARILY important figure in the "literature and letters" of this period. I'm not kidding.
5) She is not nutty or out of control or in any way undisciplined. She is courageous and witty, which is a deadly combination for anyone on the other end of what she's saying.
6) Conservatives need, in a more positive light, to starting coming up with a new category of praise for what Ann is doing. She is some combination of Edward R Murrow, Will Rogers, Bob Hope and Lenny Bruce. Again, I'm not kidding.
It's sort of like if I said "You're an [insert insult]... But let's not go there".
Heh... that Hillary pic.... All I can say is, nicely done, and EWWWWWWW!
And I thought what Ann said was hillarious! Too bad people on the Left are boo-hooing. It's cut from the same stuff Lettermen and Leno do every evening. The only thing different is the term faggot, which they dislike because it's "homophobic".
The amount of jealousy other women have toward Ann is what boggles the mind.
Bear in mind, I wouldn't insult you, but if I hurled an insult at you, it would reflect poorly on my character and not yours.
You do their bookings?
