I guess you could say that Ann loves to shock us, but at this point, who’s shocked? She obviously can’t behave well enough to attend a respectable political gathering. It’s not a lack of intelligence. It’s an indifference to self-control and a preening sort of narcissism that compels her to need the spotlight, even if it’s unflattering.
(For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about, here’s audio of her calling John Edwards a “faggot” at CPAC today.)

Ann Coulter just finished her riff on Al Gore, tossed out some cute jokes ("You can understand why Hollywood is concerned about global warming. You know what heat does to plastic."), and ended with a cheap one-liner about John Edwards being a "faggot." (Paraphrasing) She said she would refrain from commenting on Edwards because "if you say faggot, you have to go to rehab."
A smattering of laughter.
Not from this corner.
Crickets chirping.

Ann Coulter is speaking at CPAC as I write. As is typical, she gave a brief speech full of her usual witticisms, including a few brilliant attacks on Al Gore’s green hypocrisy. All was good. Untill the last few seconds, when she launched into a joke about John Edwards.
Here’s what she said.
“I’d say something about John Edwards, but if you say ‘faggot’ you have to go to rehab.”
I’m no fan of John Edwards, but that’s just a stupid joke. It’s over the line. The laughter it generated across the room was more than a little annoying.
Last year it was “raghead.” This year it’s calling John Edwards a “faggot.” Two years in a row, Coulter has finished up an otherwise sharp CPAC routine with an obnoxious slur that liberals will fling at conservatives for years to come.

My comments... what should have been a day to celebrate a Reaganesque speech by Duncan Hunter, and good speeches by Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee was overshadowed by an unhinged comment by Ann Coulter. She is an absolute idiot for saying something like this at CPAC.

A thinking conservative would have gotten the context of the criminalization of the word "faggot" (it's been in the news) and would have realized -- especially since Edwards is not gay -- that it is a joke.
A stupid (pretend) conservative would just jump in with both feet and self-righteous anger.
Especially if they are pea green with envy that their words carry no weight anywhere. (Except maybe around the food service cart.)
Well, all this "shock and outrage" is really a bit overdone. We should all just cower and demand that Ann apologize so we can show the world we are not the "party of hate???" Give me a break! I puke!! Meanwhile, we have the Marxists Democrats and stinking yellow traitors that call themselves Republicans busy trying to enslave and destroy the nation by any which way they can,, they are feverishly working to pass laws and use activist judges to prevent the people of this nation from petitioning the government, to confiscate and eliminate private property, to eliminate gun ownership, to restrict our religious freedoms, to indoctrinate our children, to destroy parental rights,,, they are allowing illegal aliens to invade our nation and using the power they have been entrusted with to imprison border patrol agents and sheriffs that dare to enforce the real law,, they enrich themselves with bribes, they lie, they cheat and steal from the people that they are suppose to serve and protect,, they show contempt for our freedoms and our constitution,, they have contempt for religions and our God,,, they gorge themselves with our sweat and blood and they are never satisfied! They buy themselves expensive homes, clothes and jewelry,, all paid for by our tax money or bribes, while frolicking around the globe with movie stars and entertaining themselves with the finest foods and wines,, all of this and more,,, yet I am suppose to get all offended at some woman who dares to half mockingly call a scoundrel a faggot??? I will tell you what is really offensive! the Democrats are offensive! The homosexual agenda is offensive! Congress is offensive! Attacks of private property are offensive! Attacks on free speech,, attacks on religious freedom,, attacks on the rights of private businesses to operate,, indoctrination of our children in public schools ,, jailing border patrol agents for shooting some feeling drug lord in his good for nothing rear!! That is all offensive and should be far more offensive then some woman calling a politician a name, for God's sake!!
I think it's far more important that we fight politically correct speech codes tooth and nail. "Party of hate" is the kind of bogus term that shouldn't be rolled out until somebody starts endorsing genocide (and trust me—the Democrats are closer to that than we are). It shouldn't be used because someone made a joke about a candidate being swishy.
By the way, the irony of your (non-original) tagline:
