I disagree. In a competition of gravitas between Thompson and Hunter, it's Thompson .. hands down. This article has nothing to do with my stated opinion, but is today's news.

Hunter drops two S.C. advisers
Republican presidential candidate and California congressman Duncan Hunter has dropped two top South Carolina advisers a week after they were appointed because of their inflammatory statements about immigrants and religious minorities.
Hunter spokesman Roy Tyler confirmed Thursday that former GOP lieutenant governor candidate Henry Jordan and Horry County Auditor Lois Eargle would no longer serve as campaign co-chairs.
Eargle, speaking Feb. 22 at a news conference, said an illegal immigrant with three children came to her office the day before asking for free legal help for an abused child.
I told her the best thing for her to do was to get back to Mexico, Eargle said then.
(snip)
Eargle said she meant to say the womans boyfriend had abused her, and the woman came for legal help to get him out of jail.
Jordan, who ran unsuccessfully for lieutenant governor in 1996 and last year, said he thinks Hunter did the right thing. Jordan said he didnt want his comment disparaging Muslims and Buddhists, made while he was a state school board member in 1997, to hamper Hunters campaign.

One of the best qualities for a successful actor is having the ability
to Ad-lib. Reagan had that gift and I'm certain Fred Thompson does also.
Hillary would be chewed into little teary-eyed kibble-bits.

I'm sure as the election progresses some enterprising person will play up her speech pattern on YouTube.
My speech may not always be perfect, I admit. But, I'm not "THE MOST INTELLIGENT WOMAN IN THE WORLD."
(That's a lie. I'm definitely more intelligent than Hillary, but so are most of my contemporaries.)
The longer this election goes, the more Bill will be called in to direct her. She cannot win without his political skills.

Wow! I was out for several hours and look what happened?
I'm glad the Mr. Thompson threw his hat into the ring. It should make an interesting race. Fred is tough to debate and also an incredible and plain sense speaker.
He does have past social issues to deal with, but then, let he who is without sin, cast the first stone! I think he will do fine and be a real contender. He would also be one who could draw in the Moderate and Independent voters. Of course the Purest of the Pure, would probably find Fred to be un-Ron Paul and have too many moderate (aka liberal) qualities, so we'll see when that time comes.

Last time I checked, yes, 92 and I am not surprised. Too many people here are too quick to call pols RINOs without first checking the facts. NOT you. I am speaking in generalities.

Then we agree to disagree. In a vote between Hunter and Thompson, Hunter get's our vote.
I read that story a day or two ago. Didn't cut any mustard with me. He dropped them. It's a non issue story.
