LOS ANGELES It's a role so easy, even a caveman can do it.
A sitcom based on the Geico insurance cavemen ads is being developed for ABC, the Hollywood trade publication Variety reported.
The comedy would be about three cavemen living in modern-day Atlanta who are battling caveman-oriented prejudice, just as they do in the commercials, according to Variety.
The writer of the "so easy, even a caveman can do it" spots is also writing the sitcom.

He gets glowing reviews. </groan>
As if the 30 second commercials weren't enough of an assault on my basic human dignity, now it'll be a 30 minute hit piece.
Anti-cave hate speech is what it is.
Those cavemen might turn into the Taco Bell dog.
So easy a caveman could do it...but the Dems, who couldn't do it, would only strive to keep the caveman down.
heck i have nosed around every inch of your crib too! ; )
You and I might be the only ones to remember that (short-lived) show. I haven't even thought of it for years, and yet... I still remember the damned theme song!
About as good as anything else the networks put on TV these days, I suppose.
That's not saying much.
As long as it isn't that atrociously awful domino's commercial with the cgi-enhanced idiots with bugeyes, big ears, etc. I only see that 100 times a day in the one hour I watch tv...

It's the best commercial in years. A sitcom has potential if the writers don't go over the top.
speaking of ads - anyone know who sings the current Ford TV commercial "More Fun[?]". - the little voices in my head are singing up a storm
Maybe you can play the right wing republican neighbor on the show to balance things out.
I just hope and pray they don't make a sitcom from those hideous HeadOn commercials!
I see someone else remembers that show...Joe E. Ross (of Car 54) was also in it. Wow.. TV really does warp the minds of impressionable youngsters!
What I want to know is "Are the cavemen going on the Extreme Makeover show next" I think that would be the
neatest makeover and I am dying to meet Mommie
Thanks for the memory. I hadn't thought about that show in years. I was only about 6 or 7, but I remember watching it.
I can't stand those Cave Men.
It's really not funny to flush the toilet when I'm in the shower, you know.
