Yup, and of course the poor won't be able to afford buying carbon credits to drive their used SUV, if there are any available after rich liberals like Algore have bought them all up to support their outrageous lifestyles.

I posted this message in the Comments section under the article in the Washington Compost:
I love the way the Gore-loving libs attack the messenger rather than attack the facts.
Al Gore is living high off the hog and using a lot of energy for just him and Tipper. FACT. Nothing wrong with that but he is being a hypocrite for not doing more himself. Buying offsets or energy credits is not an option the rest of us can afford.
He tells others to use less while he jets around using a lot more energy in private planes or big SUV's. FACT. In his position as former Vice President, former Senator he earns a living doing speeches promoting his causes (mostly global warming) but he doesn't act in an environmentally friendly way between speeches. See Ed Begley Jr. who lives what he preaches.
President Bush uses far less energy than Al Gore (4000 sq. ft. house is pretty small when you factor in all the Secret Service and other people required by law to be with the President) . FACT.
Al Gore won more votes in 2000 but didn't get elected because the electoral college determines who becomes President. This is the fourth time that more votes didn't win the election. FACT Get over it.
Global Warming has little to do with man's actions and the United States alone should not be responsible for cleaning up the world's messes.
Algore should be taken as seriously as his movie -- A Convenient Lie. It is mostly fiction dramatized with music and a few facts. Algore is like that. Mostly fiction.

Attention guilt ridden celebrities & Al Gore: SHUT UP! You have nothing to say to us! We drive two cars, don't fly private jets, and use 1/20 the energy you use. YOU HAVE NOTHING TO SAY TO US!

"The Drudge Report has news? All I see is 'Hurricanes and Hollywood' on his site these days."
All I would see were "pop up" ads. Thats why I stopped going there 2 years ago. But still listen to his radio show on Sunday nights

I'd like to introduce you all to the Georgia Dawg Carbon Offset company..
I'll go plant a tree for each $100 you send me (on a yearly basis - these are renewable offsets) so you can get your carbon footprint reduced to zero..you'll feel much better about yourselves, will be helping the environment and the best thing is you can then run your electric/gas bill up as high as you want and feel good about it ala algore..
Who wants to be my first customer?? Sorry cash only, no credit cards or checks. I TRUST IN GOD, everyone else pays cash, NO CREDIT..

It might not work here on FR, but I bet if you post it over at DU and other similar sights you could do well. Better yet, tell them that you will plant hemp or pot.

Big Fat HYPOCRITE!!! "You all reduce your energy and then there'll be enough for Tipper and me"!!
To: rface
Gore's
"Green Power Switch" seems rather hokey. Supposedly by paying a little more on your electric bill you get energy from "green" renewable sources. However, who is sorting the electrons? Unless Mr. Gore's modest home has its own electric lines going to exclusively "green" electricity sources, could it be that some of that electricity he is using is coming from nasty coal plants, environment destroying dams or (gasp!) planet killing nuclear plants? Green Switch is just another conscience soothing carbon offset that does nothing.

You pay a company to plant a tree and you can run your air-conditioning in your 24,000 sq. ft. house all you want, while telling "little" PEOPLE NOT TO DRIVE THEIR CARS!!!! tHIS IS A scam AND i DEMAND AN investigation BY THE senate AND HOUSE!!!
To: Suzy Quzy
Due to their indirect nature, many types of offset are difficult to verify. Some providers obtain certification that their offsets are accurately measured, to distance themselves from potentially fraudulent competitors.
Accounting systems differ on what constitutes a valid offset for voluntary reduction systems and for mandatory reduction systems. Formal standards for quantification of offsets are not in place; differences of opinion between emitters, regulators, environmentalists, and project developers have yet to be resolved.

Pardon my ignorance of New Age leftist terminology, but what on earth are "carbon offsets" and "carbon footprints" anyway?

4,000 square feet is an extremely modest home.
I mean it's twice as big as my house, but for a fairly wealthy guy like George Bush, it is a cottage. I'll bet it is smaller than the homes of all the senators and most of the congress critters.
He invites world leaders there and is happy to entertain them in a modest ranch house with no pretensions.

Read the thread. It will explain the scam, and is hilarious to boot.

2) Gore has had a consistent position of purchasing carbon offsets to offset the family's carbon footprint -- a concept the right-wing fails to understand. Gore's office explains:"
Consistent my *ss. He just started buying his carbon offsets 3 MONTHS AGO. Some consistency. And I'm sure the only reason he bought them was because he knew the word would get out about his environmental hypocrisy and was trying to head the charges off at the pass.
