Yes, they do, but they have a different agenda. They are engaged in a power play for the reigns of the RNC and they are failing. They are attacking the moderates and anyone else with a different social opinion then their own. In doing so, they have damaged the party. Nearly destroyed it and this will be obvious in 2008.
So who is the culprit here....Me??????? Or the nasty new meat eating fish that are new to the tank?
Obviously your issue is guns, and Rudy is a big city prosecutor. Big cities, hate guns....
Not just some of them, but all of them and us country folks can't really understand this concept.
I don't particularly like ex-procecutors for this reason.
If you feel this way about Rudy, then you should feel the same way about Judge Bork! You should be glad he was Borked!
There are exceptions to most rules in politics, but the unappeasable does not see them. I think the key to good politics is knowledge, and we cannot have too much of it. I think Judge Bork, regardless of his first amendment opinions, who have been a asset to the court at a time when we needed on badly. So there are always compromises. I also think we could have done without the Harriet Miers debate. It damaged the presidency and she never received a single debate or vote in the Senate. It was a travesty.
There are alway grey and tan areas in politics. Always.....
Careful, Cold Heat; you're beginning to hit some nerves around here -- like Common Tator did -- and we all saw what was said about him on this thread.
umm no I never said you were the culprit lol.
I have supported and defended the Constitution of These United States for most of my adult life. Defended this country against it's enemies and those who would see us and her people harmed.
When someone has the record Mr. Guiliani has, anti-gun, pro-illegal alien, there's no way on earth I can support him.
I don't hate the guy, I think he did a wonderful job as the Mayor of NY.
That's fine for NY if that's what they want.
It's not fine for me.
and I want to thank you for holding a civil conversation with me. Too many times these devolve into a flame fest and neither side does anything but make themselves look like fools in the process.
oh and yes, I did feel the same way about Bork.
I can forgive alot of sins, but violating our constitution for politically expediant reasons is something I will never EVER forgive.
Go look at the socially conservative Republican Party Platform and then you tell me just who is trying to hijack the GOP with a different agenda. The Party Platform is on the side of the conservatives. The "moderates" are actually liberals who oppose the platform and who have been trying for years to complete their takeover of the party. The people who are damaging the party are those who oppose its core principles and who wish to steer the party for their own selfish political ends.
