Well, I am rather shocked to see so many FReepers and Republicans in full support of and actually arguing FOR the liberal/socialist positions on abortion, gay rights, gun control, first amendment restrictions, global warming. insecure borders, and other leftist issues. Free Republic is a conservative site and has always opposed liberalism, socialism, Marxism and tyranny in any form. These positions should be condemned not supported.

I hope sanity is restored soon.

I haven't seen one person here supporting those issues you just posted; what I have seen is people supporting a candidate who claims he has changed and that they can support to keep the liberals out of control of all three branches of the goverment.

To claim they support those issues is disengenuous, at best.

Can you point me to one person advocating those things, or are you just engaging in more hyperbole because you don't like the Republican that is the frontrunner in America today among Republicans, Democrats and Moderates?

Amen! Sanity would be a good thing around here so that FReepers can organize behind the conservative candidates and not have to fight daily battles against the liberal infiltrators who support their liberal candidates and demoralize the supporters of the conservative candidates. Since when was there even a debate on this site that we support the conservatives and oppose the liberals? But that's what we've been going back and forth about for months now.

Many Freepers and Republicans here are NOT in support of or arguing for liberal/socialists positions...., Jim. We are primarily concerned about terrorists and terrorism against THIS NATION.

While Presidents do have power of the veto, they do not make or abolish laws; the Supreme Court and Congress do that.

This nation at this time in its history does need strong leadership against a foe that is determined to kill us all. It is imperative, therefore, that we elect a Republican President because God knows a Democratic one will also lead to our destruction.

"moderate" republicans have always been similar to any democrat in at least one way - progress towards conservative ideals happens in spite of them.

Their support only comes as a result of their desire to be on what they perceive to be the winning side. They were never anywhere to be found when the fight got tough - and they never will be.

Giuliani is not a socialist. There are thoughtful, feverently pro-life, pro-family conservatives like Pete Sessions who know a helluva lot more about him than you, and support him.

You can allow ridiculous and exaggerated red-meat comments and anti-rudy spam 24/7, but no hearts and minds will be changed. Intelligent conservatives will not fall for that nonsense.

FWIW, surely you have noticed that some FReepers who claim to agree with us on Conservative issues have been posting comments that are inflamatory, arrogant, hateful, and downright rude. Personally, I do not want to be associated with those sort of people as I feel they do more harm than good to the conservative cause. With FRiends like these, who needs enemies.
