The word you want is ensure, not insure. You can't take out a policy on such things.

In spite of your strong tone, i fail to agree with your ill-informed, useless little point of view, and I fail to see how going so negative on people will get them to stop going negative on others.

Well, I also happen to agree with JR. I've quoted him a few times too. Is that alright, as long as I'm not a "fifth columnist?" Or do you see some imperfection in me that disqualifies me from agreeing with JR?

The problem with your assertion, is the definition of a Republican.

It seems some faction has done it's best to change the definition and distort Reagan's record and the party in the process.

I'm not a big Rudy fan, but he is not very much more liberal then Reagan was. On the law and order side, he is probably more conservative. His record is largely as the Mayor of NYC, and certainly will not reflect a hard right Conservative outlook regarding guns and social crap. (Yes, I said crap) NYC is not the place for social conservatism and has not been for a hundred years. Never will be.

Dismissing him as a liberal is just plain nonsense. The traditional Republican platform is a comfortable place for him. If you knew what a Republican is, you would know this.

The problem is that the RNC is under attack by the social conservatives, and they are a minority. It is also under attack by the libertine populists and both maintain that they are the true conservatives and define the Republican party, when neither one actually does.

The party is for limited government, personal freedoms, and a very strong national defense and law and order. It has been so for decades.

Social Conservatism has never been the model, and personal freedom beliefs have always trumped this until recently.

This is why folks like myself are able to point at "Shiavo" as being the straw that broke the camels back. This occurred because so much of the traditional platform was stomped on in order to usurp a State Judicial System in the name of conservatism, which is a huge lie and distortion of the truth. What you saw was populism justified by moralism and supported by idiots, many of which are now politically retired.. But....The damage was done and it has accelerated.

Until we fix this, by returning to our roots, this party will remain in shambles. What you are seeing is a power struggle for control that is destroying the political coalition, and this is being egged on by the democrats who know exactly what they are doing.

I'm guessing that many will finally figure this out when they count the bodies in mid November 2008. This party cannot function as separate entities. It has always been a coalition, and yes, there has always been compromises made.

The answer is simple. You take the unappeasables, and you kick them to the curb. You replace them with new meat from the other party and you soldier on.

Have a nice day........

EV: Troll, you must be posting from a dark room or a cave, since it's daylight outside and you still haven't turned to stone.

You sir, are truly despicable. This man you call a troll is a veteran. You are nothing but an offensive and cowardly toady hiding behind Jim Robinson's posts. You have no decency and I'm ashamed to be associated with the likes of you.

Mr. Robinson, if you are indeed listening, I must protest, sir. If you continue allow this obnoxious internecine gamesmanship you will destroy everything you have worked for these last dozen years.

How about 'assure', EVie? Fifth columnist scum will pay for a FReeper insurance policy to pay their dividends in demonrat victory. Thats insurance, and they entend to ensure with assurance, that their policy pays off.

Is there a single candidate who meets all your criteria AND has a chance of winning this crucial election? If so, I'd like a name.

The "and has a chance of winning" part is the poison pill the RINOs use to tank any legitimate conservative candidate. However, we all know anyone has a chance of winning, and the only conservatve Republican to hold the presidency in the last 30 years is also the only Republican in that time to win overwhelmingly.

I'm sure he's got a little war chest. I'm sure he's had some side ventures since his run for the Senate.

Perfectly logical way to win this election. I like the way you think, CH!

Well, yes, I think your particular form of zeal is counter-productive and that you also desire conflict, as demonstrated by your willingness to butt in now and make this your affair. I don't think you've really got the gray matter to be a fifth columnist, but you certainly have been their useful tool.

Like he said, he's busy "right now" trying to save the Republican Party...doesn't have the time to be FOR a candidate.

If your house was burning down, the last thing you'd want to be doing is going around straightening the pictures on the wall.

You, as a fifth columnist disruptor, use JR positions to attempt to divide FReepers. I've read all of JR posts, and while disappointed that he gives fifth columnist scum the fodder to divide, I do support all the things he has said, and his assurance that he will be voting in the general. Evie, you fifth columnist, I support Duncan Hunter in spite of your vitriol, deceit and disruption. Jim has made all of his posts without the filthy alienating tactics you fifth columnist disruptors employ.

Excuse me, but the fifth column disruptors are the liberals who infest this forum and promote candidates who stand for just about everything that this forum stands AGAINST. (See Rudy Giuliani). The fifth column disruptors are those who promote liberal candidates whose positions are in opposition to the majority of the Republican Party Platform.

You can go off the cliff with your abortion rants, but it won't have anything to do with this election.

For you to infer that those of us who don't think that is the number one issue in the coming election are liberal traitors is a salacious lie, but coming from you, nobody is surprised.
