Black Voters Shift to Obama

Sen. Barack Obama has cut Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's lead in half, thanks to a shift by black voters.

According to a Washington Post-ABC News poll, Clinton was favored by 41 percent of voters in January, when she announced her candidacy for president. Then came Obama (17 percent), former Sen. John Edwards (11 percent) and former Vice President Al Gore (10 percent).

In the latest poll, those numbers show Clinton still ahead (36 percent), followed by Obama (24 percent), Gore (14 percent) and Edwards (12 percent).

According to the Post, white voters' preferences remained the same, while black voters shifted their support in a major way. In the previous two polls, Clinton had the support of 60 percent of black voters, and Obama had 20 percent. In the latest poll, Obama surged into the lead, garnering the support of 44 percent of the black voters, to Clinton's 33 percent. Other results of the poll, according to the Post:

Obama's favorability rating among blacks rose from 54 percent to 70 percent.

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani has surged ahead of Sen. John McCain for the Republican nomination. He now holds a 2-to-1 advantage among all GOP voters, 44 percent to 21 percent.

White evangelical Protestants are strongly supporting Giuliani rather than McCain.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich placed third in the GOP race, with 15 percent.

Hey, what's happening to the wife of "first black president" then? Meanwhile McPain continues to pay for his McCain-Feingold "campaign finance reform" bill, his McCain-Kennedy "free tuition for illegals while Americans have to pay for tution" bill, and his "terrorist protection" bill for Guantanamo terrorists.

" Sarbanes-Oxley ASAP"

Sarbanes-Oxley is doing great damage to our securities business. London has been cleaning the clock of New York since that draconian law came into effect, and taking the lion's share of new international stock exchange listings.
Even liberal politicians in New York are up in arms against Sarbanes-Oxley right now.
Talk of an overkill.

Thank you. Now I'm going to have nightmares about her doing an Al Jolson routine.

I think people finally noticed that only way she could be more of a WASP is if she donned a Pilgrim's costume.

My fiance is the manager of a small optical shop, and most of her paperwork is due to Sarbanes-Oxley. It's everywhere, like an octopus...

So this becomes a black and white issue for the demos. I love to see these losers pander to the blacks.

I find it hard to accept as true, that
7 out of 10 black americans would vote
for this inexperienced underwear model.

(Hunh???)

I worked at Nike. I thought Sarbanes Oxley was the stupidest worst imposition on business, counter productive. Just nuts. I think it was 3 people had to be iinvolved in even menial transactions. Oh, guess who advised on what to impose on businsses? The CPAs. And guess who gets the biggest bang from all this? The CPAs. Not that different from turning our government over to lawyers...

Racism is alive and well. Well hidden behind accusation and PC verbiage that "only whites can be racist", but there and functioning very nicely in the body politic. How heart warming.

"Black Voters Shift to Obama"

Duh, who wudda thought? Guess that pretty well trumps any Giuliani bid for the job! All this time I thought they were a shoo-in for Newt Gingrich. Gotta watch more MSNBC to keep up with the details.

"Look for Hillary to start appearing in black face."

Of course that's a little silly. But you can bet your bippy the she will be in several black churches in 07.

It will be extremely interisting to see if Rockin Oboma does the same.

BTW, this is getting good.

It may get even better if Gore gets into it. Imagine, if you will, a scenario where Gore has 30% of the delegates, Obama has 30% and Hillary has 30%. The small fry get the remainder.

The ensuing Democrat convention could be a long, bloody brawl which will damage the party as a whole.

"President Barak Husseine Obama"

*choke*

Would have been nice to see Condoleeza run, even as Veep, she seems to be made of far more competent material than this smooth talking lightweight.

Sure, Husseine got a hit on Hillary. That's like shooting the broad side of a barn. Everyone know's she's guilty of something, she simply won't be convicted.

Look for Bill to come in and try to win back some of that black vote. Of course a move like that would make Hillary look weak but it will be a last minute desperation move.

What will happen if Hillary wins the nomination by a hair and doesn't choose B.O. as her running mate? Do the Clintons have the balls to run a black man and a woman on the same ticket? NO. They will choose Richardson because he is a Clintonista. How will black America see this move? It would be the ultimate betrayal. The Clintons will pick the hispanic over the black to run with the beast. "Why a hispanic and not a black?" People will rightly wonder.

This whole thing could really cost the Dems in the general. Dems must have large turn out amongst the black population or they are through. There are not enough voting hispanics who vote Dem to offset a large black boycott.

Imagine all the loyalty blacks have given the Dems over the past 40 years and yo have a viable black man available for the VP slot only to get pushed aside by the first black Presidents wife. Wow.

I work for a small cap, publicly traded company. Sarbanes-Oxley cost our shareholders 1.5% of our revenues this year. It is by in large meaningless. It is much like ISO. You can be ISO certified and still make junk, you just have to use a process. With SOX, you are required to have all this meaningless separation of duties process that has little to nothing to do with how you run your business.

If Hillary picks Richardson and the Republican picks Michael Steele, the African American vote could be truly divided. Remember, no Democrat can win without solid support from the African American vote.

That would be a pretty strong ticket. Rudy/Steele? Could change the fortunes of the Republican party forever.
