Thank you. The other thread might be "fun" for those who hate movies, stars etc.. but many of us don't & I wanted a place for those of us like that to drop in. NO offense if my friends are in the other "camp" & that is what makes FR so great, the diversity ...now, if we all just had a little more tolerance!
Is it me , but is "midnight blue", one of my fav colors, the color of the evening so far?
Well, I thought Venus movie was good.. not outstanding or worth seeing again.. O.toole was outstanding.
I went with one of my "older" friends (he is 81) and LOVED The concept of the young babe involved with the "mature guy"(old goat?)
Amazing grace is a great movie IMHO
OH geeze.. I haven't even turned on the TV yet. And due to the power outages we had (brief ones) the channels will need to be reset & I still have to feed pets & mom.
(and me)
I better get busy here!
Not only won't I waste my time, but I won't waste my electricity to watch tonight's Oscars. Have you ever noticed how many awards programs there are? (Oscars, Tony Awards, Emmy Awards, People's Choice Awards, Grammy Awards, Golden Globe Awards) What a self-absorbed lot. Not my cup of tea. I'll pass, thank you.
If that all happened wouldn't it be interesting if there were boo's
Not all of Hollywood likes him. They put him in same category at Clintons & they have fallen far from the grace of the moguls/stars
You're not alone. I haven't seen any of the movies up for award either. I watched Helen Mirran in Elizabeth I, and will watch The Queen when it comes out on DVD. I enjoy her work.
I'm watching Joan and Melissa. The one time a year I watch the TV guide channel. Joan can be annoying, but I for some reason I find her entertaining. Plus Ryan Seacrest on E! is even more annoying!
I can't bring myself to watch a bunch of left-wing self-absorbed narcissistic jackasses who put on what seems like a dozen award shows a year. They are the experts of NOTHING... yet they pontificate as though they are moral and intellectual authorities on all issues.
Bingo. I am proud to say that I have seen none of these movies - I hate the subsidization of any institution that is anti-American, anti-values, anti-Christian, and anti-morality. But that's probably just me...
BTW ---- I'm not trashing the thread. I'll probably be spending time in good company here... but I'm not sure I can watch the crap that is about to air tonight.
Joan to the Libs, "Oh, grow up!"
Hi Bill.. how about the "ghosts at the Oscars"
I read something about that a few months ago & meant to forward to you but never bookmarked it.. it was one of those things that I wasn't looking for but it came up on the way to something else
It looks like many missed the link to the Heckle Thread.
Isn't Al Gore in for anything?
Yes, I am chuckling to myself as I count them!
lol
Hi Dolly! Do you have a live link to the awards? :o)
I just posted the major categories.. yes he is up for best documentary & song.
BTW.. Have you ever heard of a beer called "the Poet"?
obviously reference to Poe as there is a Raven on the label.
It is an oatmeal stout from Holland Mich.
I am sipping that after finishing my left over Thai food.
