An elephant doing shopping for his sick owner, one of those "priceless" Master Card commercials.

That was better than any of the Super Bowl commercials!

These liberal bastards spit on our President and America's best (our troops) in a period of time where our very Nation's survival is in question. Oh I know they say they "support the troops, and just not the mission". That is like saying you support a football team, but you do not want them to win the game. Therefore, it is impossible to support the troops, and not the mission.

That's a small group of loudmouths. Most people who work in the film industry are unheralded working class. The Oscars are the only time they get to shine.

I am proud to say that I have seen none of these movies - I hate the subsidization of any institution that is anti-American, anti-values, anti-Christian, and anti-morality.

There's nothing inherent in cinema that conforms to what you suggest. Suggesting that being ignorant of a major American art form is morally righteous is ridiculous.

Movies that are very strange and not understood by the majority of people often do very well at the Oscars.

Like what?

Yeah, it's all about credits. One of the busier sections of the Writers Guild is the one that does credit arbitrations, trying to figure out who among the writers, re-writers, punch-up writers, and rewriting director actually made the largest contribution to the finished product.

Since Producers don't have a formal labor union, it's pretty much a free-for-all.

Was the "Devil wears Prada" a good movie?

I also enjoyed this movie... a bit of a "chick-flick"... but, Anne Hathaway was attractive enough to keep me interested. And, the script gets points from me for being fairly original. Just not being a re-make is worth something these days...

that said, it probably IS an updated remake of some movie I never saw... :-(

We also used to go to some great Oscar parties.. My favorite was the year I dressed up as Nick Nolte in his arrest photo. :-)

My wife and I have ALWAYS loved movies.... it's been "our thing" for the past 25 years. This year, we have only seen 3 of the 5 nominees (The Departed, Letter, and Lil Miss Sunshine) I liked them all, but... I would give the award to The Departed...

Just my prediction.....

It was funny! :-) And, honestly, I had a tear in my eye when the little girl goes down the hill and hugs her brother.... no words... just a hug. That's real life.

Much of the rest of the film was not... but, it was entertaining...
