U.S. court upholds same-sex teaching to children
17 minutes ago
A federal judge in Boston has dismissed a suit by two families who wanted to stop a Massachusetts town and its public school system from teaching their children about gay marriage, court documents show.
The families last year filed the suit asserting that the reading of a gay-themed book and handing out to elementary school students of other children's books that discussed homosexuality without first notifying parents was a violation of their religious rights.
Federal Judge Mark Wolf ruled on Friday that public schools are "entitled to teach anything that is reasonably related to the goals of preparing students to become engaged and productive citizens in our democracy."
"Diversity is a hallmark of our nation. It is increasingly evident that our diversity includes differences in sexual orientation," he said.
He said the courts had decided in other cases that parents' rights to exercise their religious beliefs were not violated when their children were exposed to contrary ideas in school.
The complaint filed against the town of Lexington, about 12 miles west of Boston, had said the school had "begun a process of intentionally indoctrinating very young children to affirm the notion that homosexuality is right and normal in direct denigration of the plaintiffs' deeply held faith."
The book that sparked the case was "King & King" which tells the story of a crown prince who rejects a bevy of beautiful princesses, rebuffing each suitor until falling in love with a prince. The two marry, sealing the union with a kiss, and live happily ever after.

A federal judge thinks we're a democracy.
New flash, your highness -- we're a REPUBLIC!
My question is: Where are the fathers?
Why would any father allow their child to be exposed to this?
"parents' rights to exercise their religious beliefs were not violated when their children were exposed to contrary ideas in school."
"Daddy, is it true there's no Flying Spaghetti Monster?"
"Get my lawyer on the phone. Damn that homosexual agenda, anyway."
As long as we accept the notion that the federal government has some sort of "right" to control education, we will never see this trend reversed.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
As long as we accept the notion that one NEIGHBOR has some sort of control over the education of ANOTHER NEIGHBOR,,,we will never see an end to these bitter curriculum and school policy issues.
The solution: Complete privatization of education on every level ( federal, state, and LOCAL!)
Given the above statement, I still support Rep. Ron Paul's move to abolish the Department of Education. It just doesn't go far enough.
I think and have thought for a long time that there is plenty of people in the govt that belong to NAMBLA & such groups. I am just disgusted. But I am not giving up by any means. ~P~
As a citizen of Massachusetts, I am disgusted. And the leaders of the state wonder why all the young families are leaving this state. Besides outrageous housing prices and the poor support of businesses, I think they should take a tally of how many young parents want their children's minds filled with immoral lies.
Are there any scholarships that can be established to spare the unfortunate children this kind of indoctrination? If not, then someone needs to be started.

Some say homosexuals are only 2% of the population. I aint buying it. There is no way 2% of the population can get this kind of crap put over on the other 98%.
The feminists support the gay rights movement. Left-wingers support the gay rights movement. Various liberal churches support the gay rights movement, plus the mainstream media. At this point, the NEA supports the gay rights movement as well as a lot of young people. They can be 2% of the population and achieve a lot with support from these other groups.
Yes and they could be 20% too.
bump
Me too.
"My question is: Where are the fathers? Why would any father allow their child to be exposed to this?"
You already know the answer, my FRiend....nowhere to be found.
The antifamily agenda sown over the last couple of generations is bearing it's bitter harvest.
