Rudy feels an incessant need to interfere with gun rights. Hmm - right to bear arms - enumerated in the Constitution. Right to abortion - fabricated by SCOTUS. Some constructionist he is - and you are.
I don't agree with Rudy's support for gun control. But I do object against the 'moral' legislation that is sometimes passed. Why should Congress outlaw internet gambling?

You ask if it gives me any comfort that New York City is less Hispanic but much more Islamic than it was 30 years ago.
The answer: No, not at all.

Did they appear there together?
I ran through the text of his speech there, and there is no mention of Rudy Giuliani at all.

After spending years of reading and listening to Canadians "advise" the people in the U.S. how they "should...." you have exceeded your duty here and I am having a "vanity" of my own.
What was your point sir? A Canadian trying to interpret and comprehend an American politician - whether you are Conservative or Liberal or Green or NDP or whatever - how could you possibly know all of the facets of why one candidate would appeal to a majority or not?
Trying to tuck an individual who has led a complicated life and trying times and become famous and beloved during the terrible aftermath of 9/11, is an impossible task. Giulani
became an emotional icon - speaking words for us in grief where none of us had a voice - whether that would make a great president of this nation or not - none of us know.
Certainly you would not.
I sincerely hope it made you feel better ... if so, at least you accomplished something of worth.

With all due respect, I am not a Canadian. LOL.

And the point of your name then?
If you have taken up the Canadian "Advisor to the U.S. Cause".... you fit right in.
To: imintrouble
"Alberta's Child" is the name of a song by Canadian country music legend Ian Tyson.

But I do object against the 'moral' legislation that is sometimes passed. Why should Congress outlaw internet gambling?Quite frankly, I think that law hid behind social concerns to protect entrenched gambling interests such as casinos and state lotteries.

I also suspect that law hid behind social concerns to close off a huge offshore money-laundering opportunity.

It's the perception of the truth and the distortions that are being put out here that concern me.

Besides being pro-abortion, pro-illegal immigration, and pro-gun control, Rudy is pro-special rights for gays, and believes in MAN-MADE global warming.
Rudy is a lefty.

Boy, you hit into the liberal double-play with that one. Calling my posts hate speech and comparing me to a Nazi. That crap doesn't belong on FR. Take your conservative-trashing talk elsewhere.

It's the perception of the truth and the distortions that are being put out here that concern me.Please - point out the distortions. Show us that Rudy ain't a gun-grabber or pro-choice to the point of getting awards and campaign contributions from NARAL. Make your case. Saying something is a lie doesn't make it such. You have to prove it. Don't be like Dems who call the Swifties liars without showing how they were lying.

"Find someone who served in the NYPD with Kerik and ask what he thinks about the guy . . . you'll likely have him laughing his @ss off."
I can tell you're not from New York. I lived and worked in NYC in State government for 6 out the 8 years Rudy served. As another person stated in another thread, thank god for Rudy and the NYPD. Because of them 1000's of people lived to go home each day to be with their families. The differences between the Dinkin's and Giuliani's years in terms of just homicides are just staggering.
Taking your advice, I'd have to go talk to Sharpton, Rangel, Barrons, Mark Green, Arafat (if he was alive), The wealthy millionaire Sheik, the elephant-dung Madonna artist at the Brooklyn Museum, the porn shop owners, pimps and kookers, on 42nd Street, 8th Avenue and Times Square, the drug dealers, the squeegy men, and oh yes, Hillary (though she was not a resident back then). I'll get on it right away. I could also add that....remember Marc Rich, the con-artist who purchased a pardon from Clinton just before leaving office ? Well how do you think he became a fugative? He was indicted by Giuliani while serving as US Attorney. Food for thought.
You anti-Rudy types are good at throwing mud and making accusations, but not very good at backing it up with RELEVANT facts. You want others to go out to prove or disprove it. New-flash.....post-Police Commissioner Kirik humiliated himself, his family, Rudy, and the President. It was all over the media in 2004. It's over and done with unless you side with Hillary and the DNC.
