Agreed.
Could be, but I'll stick with young people. I said high school kids, but I'd up the age to include SF Community College, College of Santa Fe and St. John's College age persons.
Last year before Christmas our Pastor looked out the Rectory window and noticed the lights were on in the old Convent, so he called the police. Someone had broken in. The police figured it was a transient trying to get in out of the cold. An hour later, the lights were on again. The police went inside and found that some of the Stained Glass windows had been smashed and other things had been vandalized. They checked out the neighborhood for "persons" walking around. An hour later the lights were back on. This time the police went in and found that most of the wooden furniture had been broken up and piled up in the form of a bonfire and a can of gas next to it. We had to spend some serious money to seal the Convent. The police did not want to say it was a Hate Crime. We now need at least two Knights of Columbus at Eucharistic Adoration because the old ladies are scared to be in the Church at night alone.
