After months of heated rhetoric slamming President Bush's Iraq policy, the Senate's top Democrat moved into new terrain by declaring the Iraq war a worse blunder than Vietnam.
...
White House spokesman Tony Snow told CNN he disagrees with Reid's characterization.
"Yeah, the war is tough. But the solution is not to get out. It is to provide the kinds of resources and reinforcements our forces need to get the job done, and at the same time say to the Iraqis, 'You guys gotta step up.'"

The left is stuck in the 70's.Namely because these moral retards haven't had a new idea since the '70s. They are still the party of McGovern.

He should know how to spit in the face of our troops, right?
I assume that when we surrender the terrorists will do what? Nuke Israel? Hollyweird, hey wait a minute, that Hollyweird may not be all that bad.
The terrorist deniers don't have a clue, until it's too late. Better red than dead, what an idiotic chant that was. The left is just full of idiocy.
War is performance art. and sadly Bush is not performing that well. He needs to kick a.. and take names, first the Democrats, then the terrorists.

Bob Woodward pointed out the other day that if the Democrats in Congress begin defunding the war in Iraq they "take ownership" of the war and any consequences of their meddling.

I think that the dem's are overplaying their mandate if they had one at all. They got the majority by running to the right. I don't think it will take long for the voters to want to be rid of them. The question is will the Republicans have someone at the top of the ticket that will be trusted to lead.

"Bob Woodward pointed out the other day that if the Democrats in Congress begin defunding the war in Iraq they "take ownership" of the war and any consequences of their meddling." And that is exactly why they will remain all bark and no bite! The last thing a liberal/democrat wants to do is take responsibility. Their entire ideology is about NOT taking responsibility.

I wonder if Reid even realizes that today is the first day of the Vietnamese lunar new year, also known as TET.
TET was the beginning of the end for the NVA & VC in '68, that is until the Cronkite's and Reid's of that time painted it as our defeat.
The Democrat Party, cheering for the enemy since 1968 (at least)

we are winning this war as we kicked butt during TET.
The increase in troops has had a very good effect and even the president of Iraq has publicly acknowledged this fact. Attacks are way down in the last two days and the amount of bodies has dropped from 50 per day to 5.
Now just watch as the dimwit left wing socialist politicians tell us it isn't happening or it doesn't matter.
The left wing socialist zealots are determined to lose the war. If the terrorists surrendered tomorrow the democrats would not be happy and they would find some way to make President Bush wrong in the matter.

I'd say that allowing Reid to take up space is our greatest mistake.

With leaders like Reid then by definition W.W.I and W.W.II were horrible Foreign Policy mistakes. If we had had leaders like Reid we would have pulled out after the first high casualties.

"The left is stuck in the 70's. They know that the average American will simply begin to see Iraq as Vietnam if they continue to make the metaphorical connection.
The real question is, are there enough Americans with significant intelligence that see the empty rhetoric for what it is."
That is a rhetorical question ... you know the answer, and the answer is NO.

LBJ's Vietnam policy wins that prize. We had no strategy to win there. Many wars have been unpopular. New England nearly seceded due to the War of 1812. The Mexican war was unpopular in some areas, and War Between the States was one disaster after another until Sherman took Atlanta. The War in the Philippines, the list goes on. The difference now is we have a congress loaded with cowards and "can't win" Walter Chronkites.
