Having been in Iraq for an extended tour, I can tell you that US and coalition forces do not, repeat DO NOT, live in Saddam's Palaces. The vast majority of them do live in trailers, sleep in beds while inside the wire, and enjoy "obscene amenities" (according to NBC critic Arkin) like hot shower, good food, and access to the Internet. Frankly, this statement about US forces living in Saddam's Palaces is the dumbest thing Murtha said since he said he wanted those troops redeployed to Okinawa. This man is a fool, but the MSM will puff him up out of its blind hatred for Bush.

You are right. Murtha can say what he wants with no problem and he knows it. He can blame Bush or the media will cover for him or make it a non-story. Murtha has power now with most of the voters behind him plus corrupt union leaders. This guy will not go down easily. God help our men and women in uniform.
