Open borders is primarily a leftist program, it isn't mainly about cheap labor. It is about political and cultural deconstruction and an assault on the concept of nationality. Firing mainly on the cheap labor aspect of the policy is mostly wasting your shells on a decoy.

Hehehe, the author Gwynne Dyer is a Canadian, and is about as left-leaning as you can get up there no less. He is calling for Bush to honour this to build fence.
