Maybe their constituencies feel this way.Well if they do, the only 'conservative' thing to do would be to 'get' them next....People thinking on their own and changing their minds, what next...it could be a pandemic we need to stop it immediately....

I'm the constituent of one of these Congresscritters. He does a better job of representing the 41% in the district who did not vote for him.
Maybe I have to stop voting for him to get some representation too.

I have a feeling you are correct in the case of Mr. LaTourette. His district is in NE Ohio, Kucinich territory. His website has several links allegedly showing support for the troops. This one is particularly ironic -- as we start holding these folks feet to the fire.

"Maybe their constituencies feel this way." A representative walks a fine line...their job is not merely to reflect the majority views of their constituents on every issue...that in effect would make us a pure democracy. They are notionally elected to exercise their judgment on behalf of their constituents...Many times the popular will and the greater good will coincide, but there are times when the legislator has to take a stand, and this was one of them.

"Maybe their constituencies feel this way." And it's the south that we are talking about here.
