Welcome to Sanity Island, where only adults are allowed.
President Bush held a news conference this morning in the East Room of the White House in Washington, Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007.
The entire text of his remarks and the Q & A session, complete with a video link can be found here. I might add, the text is really worth reading in its entirety. I will post a couple of highlights, including the smackdown of one particularly obnoxious reporter.
After a luncheon with SoD Gates, President Bush greeted and met with Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in the Oval Office of the White House. The text of their remarks can be read here.
President George W. Bush greets Liberia's President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf during her visit Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007, to the White House. President Bush applauded the leader's confidence and deep concern for the people of Liberia, saying, "I thank you very much for setting such a good example for not only the people of Liberia, but for the people around the world, that new democracies have got the capability of doing the hard work necessary to rout out corruption, to improve the lives of the citizens with infrastructure projects that matter." I think the Globe should be sued. I know the Bush's are too classy to do it, but I would gladly do it for them. :)
We see them together day after day. They are not only not about to divorce, but they are madly in love like very few couples are after 29 years.
The whole world has turned upside down!

RE #258
I think of it as a fictional story of an alternate universe with another couple who happen to have the name "Bush" and look like the First Couple and then I don't get so upset by it as I know the stories are bald faced lies and the writers are living thier own fantasies.

No. There's still lots of snow out there and it's really cold (12 now, I think, and going down to 2), but the roads are cleared and there's no wind, so things are sort of back to normal.
I'm not canceling choir practice tonight, so we'll see who braves the cold to be there. I should give them a prize if they show up. :)

If I had some place to go, like you do, I guess I would venture out, too. This winter here has made me realize I am a sissy when it comes to cold weather. Four months of it has grown old. I am longing for Spring, which I am told is "just around the corner."

When I was out in the 10 degree weather shoveling a little more of the driveway and walk, believe it or not, I heard quite a few birds.
Spring is coming.............even here. For me the colder the winter, the more I appreciate the spring.

Good! But, we have birds here all the time --- oh that's right, you're north of me. Birds are a GOOD sign!

Birds are a VERY good sign.
btw, I canceled tonight. The windchill forecast was a bit ominous, and there's some black ice on the roads.
Discretion is the better part of valor.....

LOL! I don't have much luck with that.
By the time I see the ping, there are usually at least 30 replies.
I still think, since I posted the Dose once a week for several years, that I should AT LEAST have a couple of honorary toasters. :)

I do too! In fact, if I'm here and if I win, my win will go to you. If I've already cooked and served him dinner, I am often here 'browsing' at the right time, but most of my wins are on Saturday's when he's watching college football or another sport.
