Welcome to Sanity Island, where only adults are allowed.
President Bush held a news conference this morning in the East Room of the White House in Washington, Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007.
The entire text of his remarks and the Q & A session, complete with a video link can be found here. I might add, the text is really worth reading in its entirety. I will post a couple of highlights, including the smackdown of one particularly obnoxious reporter.
After a luncheon with SoD Gates, President Bush greeted and met with Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in the Oval Office of the White House. The text of their remarks can be read here.
President George W. Bush greets Liberia's President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf during her visit Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007, to the White House. President Bush applauded the leader's confidence and deep concern for the people of Liberia, saying, "I thank you very much for setting such a good example for not only the people of Liberia, but for the people around the world, that new democracies have got the capability of doing the hard work necessary to rout out corruption, to improve the lives of the citizens with infrastructure projects that matter." Hey, we got snow today.
It was so pretty. Only happened for about 5 minutes, so it's a good thing I didn't blink.
I'm tired of cold already.

Our sugarless stuff is only chocolate not the regular bars and Cadbury's only recently entered the market before that it was solely the province of the diabetic food producers.
Now Cadbury's have entered they have bought out several different bars but not sugar free versions of their popular bars.

Thanks for all the pics of the news conference. I actually got to watch it live today. I thought he was great.
It's funny how relaxed and confident you can be when you're not trying to skirt about a bunch of stuff and take every side of an issue.
When you are comfortable about what you're doing and who you are.
He was totally at ease. He always disappoints them. They try to 'get' him, but he 'gets' them instead.

Jewels, could your daughter email Rush and send him a copy of the email she received from Ross? Rush has the research capabilities to find out what is going on, and get some action.

I love that photo it is funny, intimate all wrap up in one. Public yet private a real sum up of what their life and marriage is during his Presidential years.
I enjoyed the whole series that those photos came from the trip the Graceland with the then current now former Japanese PM.

that's a thought. SHe'll have to get Ross's permission...or if she just blocks out his name and rank. I'm not sure what the rules that apply here are. But, this is the first I've heard of this happening, it must have been going on a while for the military to be thinking of ways to limit what is getting through.

In an interview the other day I think Laura said that normally the White House arrange some flowers and he signs a card but whether there is also a private gift maybe.

It was quite a press conference or news conference. He was CIC and left no doubt about it.Good to hear from a source I trust. :)
At lunch today, I had Michael Medved's radio show on for a bit. He thought the President's performance was not good. He said something downright stupid: that all the top tier presidential candidates except Hillary are articulate, and that might be a reaction to GWB. Sheesh!
Enough already with all these talking heads bashing the President on every flimsy excuse just to puff themselves up.
