I would have more respect for him if he had stuck to his original statement. If he truly believes that the campaign in Iraq is wrong and harmful to the US, then "wasted" would be the correct term in the sense that they died for no good reason (in Obama's opinion) and deserved better.

Just to make it clear, I don't feel that way, but what if many troops had died in one of Clinton's pizza delivery runs?
