To: ABG(anybody but Gore)

While those facts are true of GAINING the nomination they have zero bearing on how the candidate will do if they overcome the obstacle in the primary.

Who was the last sitting senator from either party to win the Whitehouse? I really don't know the answer to that but I would like to.

The last sitting Senator to win the White House was JFK when his dad and Bill Daley in Chicago stole Illinois for him from Nixon in 1960.

*A little known fact that I found in a book about the 1960 campaign was that Kennedy told his staff that if he failed to win the RAT nomination, he was going to back Nixon in the general election...
