Wonderful post! Says it all. But I think this Rudy-mania is not something new. Many of these folks have been longing for the right moment since the days when we heard that Terri Schiavo would be the downfall of the social conservatives. Now they've got their chance, but to make it last, they are trying to pacify the rest of us with this vague nonsense about judges. If they were honest about their views, they'd come up with a bumper sticker like "KILL TERRI SCHIAVO FOR HER STEM CELLS! RUDY IN '08!"

However, even with the Rudybots and their "Roberts and Alito" shibboleth, I'm not overly impressed with Roberts and Alito. They've not done anything to earn my ire, but I haven't stood up and cheered about much of what they've done either. I'm sure they're the best Bush could have done but they're no Judge Robert Bork. For me, the jury is still out on Roberts and Alito because they're so new to the court and I'm not going to pretend otherwise just because the Rudybots believe that they are the be all and end all of great Supreme Court justices.

Abortion will kill as many people as died in the Twin Towers each day its legality continues. Moral decline in the area of sexuality will continue as long as abortion is available as a fallback. Our daughters attending public schools are at risk of falling prey to the free love zeitgeist that abortion's availability has helped to facilitate in the first place.
Just as abortion ruthlessly and without trial executes the innocent, a threat to our right to keep and bear arms removes our ability to deter the not-so-innocent. It also makes it easier for an ever more intrusive government to invade our homes with impunity - anathema to the men who wrote the words "We the people..."
Rudy, you are to be commended for your work following 9/11. No one can take that away from you, and you deserve your full mead of praise and our undying admiration for what you meant to your city on that fateful, tragic day. The person we need to lead this nation, however imperfect, must strive to embody her virtues.

And, given that Giuliani supports Roe, how in the world could anyone trust him to appoint an originalist to the court? That is about as credible as believing John Kerry was for gun rights when he carried a rifle and went hunting in an orange jumpsuit.
It's sad when conservatives here can openly state Rudy is unacceptable but conservatives on radio like Sean Hannity openly ponder selling out their beliefs and supporting him. Conservatism can't be advanced through RINO politicians.
