Correction to This Article
A Feb. 9 front-page article about the Pentagon inspector general's report regarding the office of former undersecretary of defense Douglas J. Feith incorrectly attributed quotations to that report.
References to Feith's office producing "reporting of dubious quality or reliability" and that the office "was predisposed to finding a significant relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda" were from a report issued by Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.) in Oct. 2004.
Similarly, the quotes stating that Feith's office drew on "both reliable and unreliable reporting" to produce a link between al-Qaeda and Iraq "that was much stronger than that assessed by the IC [Intelligence Community] and more in accord with the policy views of senior officials in the Administration" were also from Levin's report.

I expect to see a correction in the Dallas Morning news since they used the same Washington Compost article.
Dang.
I searched Washington Post and not "WaPO".
The irony is that the WaPo is guilty of precisely what they're accusing the Bush Administration of doing... manipulating and fabricating data in order to develop reports that match their agenda.
Oh yeah, and using reliable and unreliable intelligence sources to develop links between their story and members of the Bush Administration, the Pentagon, and the Conservative Right.
Could somebody give me a summary of what's going on? I am really confused. This is different than what I heard this morning
Wolf Blitzer was going ballistic on CNN, then suddenly he had a "never mind" moment when he was told the Washington Post was putting out a correction to their story that in fact the IG never said what the Post said he said; it was Dem. Senator CARL LEVIN that said it.
Unbelievable sloppy publishing.
But what was true and what was BS?
"But what was true and what was BS?"
Doesn't matter. It is Saturday, no one will read it and the WaPo feels good that they printed a retraction.
Story is dead and it's Bush's fault......again.
Even the NYT is smart enough to write articles like this giving credit to Levin.
this is so sickening.
Are you holding your breath?
Where do we send the paramedics?
LOL. I would never hold my breath waiting for the media to do what's right.
Thanks Velveeta.
Check this out.
I heard about this on Hugh Hewitt's show while driving down to Philly tonight
The AP and The WP should be slammed for letting Levin play them on this story
WaPo screws up..water is wet...fire is hot...the sun rises in the east...
People always read the manipulated news and not the correction.
Where does Feith go to get his reputation back?
