You know what all the foaming on FR about Rudy reminds me of? What the left was saying about Reagan in '79 and '80. "He's a bomb-thrower. He'll leads us right into World War 3." The hard right is saying about Rudy, "He's a gun-grabber. He'll lead us right into the demise of the republic." Reagan proved the hard left wrong, and became a highly effective President who left the country in better shape than when he took office. I think Rudy will prove the hard right wrong, and will be a highly effective President who will leave the country in better shape than when he took office.
You are right -- it does sound like that! The DemocRATs had all that down pat. Day after day they repeated the same mantra over and over again but it didn't work because Americans liked Reagan and he connected to the American people around the media and the DemocRATs.
